Include the film's composer Randy Newman in the Voice Cast section, as he has a brief cameo appearance as Ray's "Cousin Randy". 2001:1970:4F65:C700:B0C1:AD04:B600:A5EE (talk) 18:59, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Historical negationism

"The film also received criticism for historical negationism of the Jim Crow era in the Southern USA."

It is obscene that this sentence has THREE citations but includes no quotes. Feels like original Editor is trying to sweep the issue under the rug. 2600:1702:8A0:8980:F00F:9561:F569:D9E8 (talk) 14:39, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, I wouldn't mind expanding that sentence (and there are probably other sources which discuss that too), but my guess is that they didn't want to give any of those citations undue weight. Historyday01 (talk) 21:19, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All reasoning aside a single sentence doesn't cut it. 2600:1702:8A0:8980:F00F:9561:F569:D9E8 (talk) 15:05, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can agree with that. Historyday01 (talk) 20:12, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What to do about the Tiana series draft page?

Hello everyone. As you may or may not know, the animated series Tiana, which would have been a spinoff/expansion from this film, was sadly cancelled a few days ago. Prior to that, I had been working on the Draft:Tiana (TV series) page, updating it when there was news, as had other users. Should we just let the draft page die a slow death? Or keep the page and just turn it into a redirect to this page? Or is it too early to do anything? Thoughts?

If those who were contributors to that page, like @User:BestDaysofMusic (who created the page back in Dec. 2020), @User:The Media Expert, @User:KingArti, and @User:Whylog56 could weigh in, along with others, that would be great. Historyday01 (talk) 22:46, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We should let it die out, since it was announced that they're doing a Disney+ special instead of the show. KingArti (talk) 22:56, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm okay with that. Historyday01 (talk) 01:53, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Remove see also the Swan Princess is false

(Groaning with a headache) I don’t believe this. Naveen as frog looks resembles and behaves similar to Jean-Bob & That’s that. Plus, the Screen Rant source said this. “Angry fans of the smaller budget movie complained that the way Naveen (in frog form) looks and behaves similarly to Jean-Bob, Odette’s French frog friend.” — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.232.3.150 (talk) 15:41, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"The entire vacillating Disney Princess concept"

The film's fiscal shortcoming was a major reason for the changing of title of the next year's Tangled from "Rapunzel" in order to dissociate from The Princess and the Frog and the entire vacillating Disney Princess concept (Tangled would almost double its predecessor's box office take).

What is "the entire vacillating Disney Princess concept?" A hardcore Disney fan might understand that phrase but I question whether the average reader does. 69.193.72.146 (talk) 20:08, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Stella Meghie not American

In the section on the proposed spin-off series Tiana, director Stella Meghie is described as being the first African-American to potentially direct a Disney show. However, she is not American. She is Canadian, with Jamaican parents. If you like, she can be mentioned as potentially the first "black person" to direct a Disney show. (There may be a Wikipedia standard for racial designation that I do not know.) Barreav (talk) 13:14, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, perhaps we can just call her the first Black Canadian to direct a Disney show, as her page calls her a "Canadian film director and screenwriter." Historyday01 (talk) 13:20, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
