Kurdish heritage
Some sources say he is of Kurdish descent as well? Is this true? Either way I think it should be addressed in the Early life section. https://manage.rudaw.net/english/middleeast/iran/16092024-amp 2600:100C:A218:9A7B:2493:C393:D3CB:1718 (talk) 21:48, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
= Turkish designation, unnecessary
Pezeshkian is not Turkish. He is of mixed Azeri-Kurdish heritage. This designation is lost in translation as "Azeris" are often referred to as "Turks" in Iran due to their linguistic divergence from the rest of Iran. However, this is not an Ethnic distinction. Being that this article is in English that statement should not be included to avoid confusion and misinformation. 2600:8800:70A1:500:F242:EE83:D5B7:3ECA (talk) 07:51, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

2025 Iran–Israel war - Add template for main article
The section "2025 Iran–Israel war " literally only has one sentence... can we add a template for "Main Article" and point to the page for 2025 Iran Israel war? or a "See Also" template would work Macbrindle (talk) 13:30, 2 July 2025 (UTC)

Change the first sentence to Masoud Pezeshkian[a] (born Masoud Puzideh; 29 September 1954) is an Iranian politician who is the ninth and current president of Iran since 2024.
(Or something similar according to your formatting styles. There's been plenty of speculation he's of Armenian/Kurdish/Azeri descent based on the surname when in reality the surname is self-adopted (literally means a doctor, funny example of nominative determinism 5.44.170.181 (talk) 09:04, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

Currently, the end of the article introduction says "...and tensions escalated into the ongoing Iran–Israel war.". I suggest removing the "ongoing" word, because a ceasefire was signed since then. MonAx (talk) 17:00, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
I believe this AfD was closed prematurely. There have been more developments both in the article as well as the situation and sources, e.g. U.S. intelligence sources confirming it.[1]. This most probably merits its own separate article. We have many similar articles, such as Attempted assassination of Ali Khamenei, Attempted assassination of Jair Bolsonaro, Attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, Attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, Attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Florida... Numerous articles on politicians include their other professions (for example, Donald Trump is a 'politician, media personality and businessman' instead of being labelled as just a politician. Since Pezeshkian is by trade a cardiac surgeon, I'd like to suggest including mention of this (eg: 'is an Iranian politician and physician' or 'an Iranian politician and surgeon') both to render this article inline with others and to add brief but useful context to the initial phrase. Pezeshkian no longer works as a doctor, but Trump is arguably no longer a media personality. Still, 'Former physician' might be more in line with the encyclopedia's tendencies and would work just as well.
Just a thought. Have a good day! Orholam (talk) 03:25, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Done per MOS:ROLEBIO. Given that he was the president of one of Iran's top medical schools before beginning his political career, his notability as a physician seems well established. Day Creature (talk) 04:10, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
