Talk:Jay Bhattacharya

not a physician scientist

He's not a physician or a scientist. Just because the first reference calls him that, does not make it true. He has never seen patients as a professional (after completing his MD) and he is not a laboratory scientist of any sort. He is an economist. I would edit this but I think someone would come back and just reinstate it. --Math-ghamhainn (talk) 02:52, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. I think Approach 5 in Wikipedia:When sources are wrong would be best here: Delete the false information. Other voices? --Hob Gadling (talk) 13:25, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Yes, I would like a discussion. I don't want to get into an edit war but it is really incorrect that he is called a physician and a scientist. He is a social scientist ("health economist" - I am fine with that) with pre-clinical training, but no post MD training as a physician and no laboratory science training (as one might have expected for the head of NIH). I would support removing it. DolyaIskrina (talk) 04:16, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
