Hmm.. I do see your point, but adult contemporary has been used as a genre on Wikipedia for years. The portion "Adult contemporary was originally established as a continuation of the easy listening and soft rock sounds from the 1960s and 1970s, usually focusing on songs with varying degrees of easy listening, pop, soul, R&B, quiet storm, and rock influence. In the 1990s, adult contemporary began to accommodate a hotter sound more inclusive of contemporary pop songs, and develop sub-categories devoted towards specific genres" from the article definitely does make it seem like a genre. I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I just believe we should be consistent and since adult contemporary has been used as a genre on Wikipedia for years it may be easier to keep it that way.
