Červeňany (Hungarian: Veres) is a village and municipality in the Veľký Krtíš District of the Banská Bystrica Region of southern Slovakia.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 339 metres (1,112 ft)[3] and covers an area of 6.75 km2 (2.61 sq mi) (2024).[4]

History

The village was first mentioned in 1345 (Verus). It belonged to Divín castle.
