Wikipedia Library
Hello! Seeing your comment in Talk:Turkey, you should be able to access Wikipedia Library. Did you try doing the initial set up? Bogazicili (talk) 17:26, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah I use the Wikipedia Library loads but some of the entries on Oxford Research Encyclopedia are locked Kowal2701 (talk) 17:37, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah you are right, I was just going to come back and say that myself. I thought it would be unlocked, but it isn't. Oxford Research Encyclopedias database seem very high quality actually. Bogazicili (talk) 17:42, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, looks like there's a technical issue [1]. So access might be restored later. Bogazicili (talk) 17:45, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oh nice. Yeah they're so useful, the only publisher the Wikipedia Library is missing imo is Taylor and Francis books/Routledge. Countless times has it had the perfect and only source on a topic. It's got 200 upvotes at Suggest a collection so hopefully it gets added soon. Kowal2701 (talk) 18:03, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- They have good overview sources, I use Taylor and Francis/Routledge books often. Bogazicili (talk) 18:20, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Mwene MujiOn 31 December 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mwene Muji, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that grand claims that the ruler of Mwene Muji once had imperial status were dismissed by Belgian colonial authorities? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mwene Muji. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mwene Muji), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. Scholastique Dianzinga
I saw you're adding to African historigrpahy, so tought I would drop a note that I just started a page for Scholastique Dianzinga from Republic of Congo Lajmmoore (talk) 10:39, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- That’s great, thank you, I’ll add her to the list. I intend to write Women in African history, there’s so many high quality sources. Are you mainly interested in BLPs? Kowal2701 (talk) 13:10, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
- There are so many female rulers who are revered in their respective societies’ oral traditions, such as Gudit, Kahina, Nzinga of Ndongo and Matamba, and Amina, Queen of Zazzau Kowal2701 (talk) 13:17, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
African historiography
Great job on African historiography!
recommend add History of Liberia
Rjensen (talk) 22:00, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, I’m enjoying writing it although I might be a little out of my depth. I’m not sure what you mean regarding Liberia? Kowal2701 (talk) 22:09, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Liberia is not in section #8 "List of historians of Africa" --such as Abayomi Wilfrid Karnga Rjensen (talk) 03:07, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, thanks, there are a few that are missing. I was just going through categories at Category:Historians by nationality. I’ll add Liberia Kowal2701 (talk) 07:11, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- I’m gonna do a site search through Google for other countries as the categories are very incomplete, some non existent Kowal2701 (talk) 07:16, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

Things have gone south again.
If you have some time, could you take a look at Talk:Ishaaq bin Ahmed#Moving critical scholarship to the historicity section and the discussion immediately below?
I'd understand if you wouldn't. Kind regards, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 18:50, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Men of memory
Hello, Kowal2701,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Rodney Baggins, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Men of memory, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rodney Baggins}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Redirect marked for deletion
Just to explain why I've marked the new redirect Men of memory for deletion. I see no reason for it being created as it doesn't seem to have any context. Firstly, it's an orphan (i.e. nothing links to it) so it would never be brought into use. Most importantly, the page List of oral repositories does not mention the term "Men of memory", and it is not an alternative bolded title anywhere in the lead section, so I would question its relevance. Regards, Rodney Baggins (talk) 15:16, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t think that’s correct, WP:R3 is for typos and misnomers, which is not the case here. If you question its relevance, the correct avenue is WP:RFD, not speedy deletion. There was also an ongoing discussion on the talk page about it. Kowal2701 (talk) 16:13, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time to let me know though Kowal2701 (talk) 16:15, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
