Lost on a Mountain in Maine is a 2024 American adventure drama film written by Luke Paradise, directed by Andrew Kightlinger and starring Luke David Blumm as Donn Fendler.[1] It is based on Fendler’s book of the same name.[2]
Plot
Based on the book by the same name, the film tells the inspiring story of a 12-year-old boy who, separated from his family by a fast-moving storm, must fight to stay alive during his nine-day adventure lost in the backwoods of Maine.

Production
The film was shot in upstate New York and Baxter State Park.[3] Scenes were filmed on Mount Katahdin.[4]
Release
The film premiered at the Maine International Film Festival on July 14, 2024.[5] Then it was released in theaters on November 1, 2024.[6][7][8]
Reception
The film has a 53% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 15 reviews.[9] Alex Saveliev of Film Threat scored the film a 6 out of 10.[1] Mark Keizer of MovieWeb scored the film a 2.5 out of 5.[10] Erick Massoto of Collider scored the film a 4 out of 10.[11]
Joe Leydon of Variety gave the film a positive review and wrote, “Despite its predictability and stretches of pokey pacing, director Andrew Boodhoo Kightlinger’s drama remains engrossing throughout.”[2]
