HMS Anson was a 74-gun third rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched on 11 May 1812 at Hull.[1]

She was placed on harbour service in 1839, then transported 499 male convicts to Hobart in 1844. For the next seven years, she served as a probation ship for female convicts in Hobart, before ultimately being broken up there in 1851.[1]
