Ammonium tetrathiovanadate is the inorganic compound with the chemical formula (NH4)3VS4. It is a violet solid. The compound is a salt consisting of three ammonium cations and a tetrahedral VS43- anion.[1][2]

Chemical properties

Like other ammonium salts, ammonium tetrathiovanadate decomposes when heated:[3]

(NH4)3VS4 → 6NH3↑ + 3H2S↑ + V2S5
V2S5 → V2S3 + 2S
