Sellel on Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOCG) tähis ning see on pärit Põhja-Itaaliast Piemonte piirkonnast. Barolot valmistatakse "Nebbiolo" viinamarjadest ning seda peetakse Itaalia veinide seas üheks paremaks.[1]
