"bicycle" pathway
I recently came across 3-Hydroxypropionate bicycle and learnt for the first time that there exists pathways known as "bicycle". Unfortunately, "bicyclic pathways" seems to be a phenomenon with no articles on it and I'm not learned enough about the topic to write one. Can someone knowledgeable create an article on it? Or at least add an entry to Bicycle (disambiguation) per WP:DABRED. Thanks! —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 18:51, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Took a quick look into it, since its a really neat pathway. The figure on Wikipedia doesn't do the cycle justice; it should be remade to be a single image. Anyways, for a biochemistry context the 3HP bicycle seems to be the only bicyclic pathway, or at least the only notable (find-able) one. I can definitely imagine something like this could have been engineered in pure organic or inorganic chemistry for some sort of proof of concept, somewhere. It would require a bit deeper of a dive into the topic than I'm willing. Wish there was more readily available. ― Synpath 21:37, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Restriction Enzymes and Italics
I just noticed that REs on Wikipedia have the first 3 letters italicized which hasn't been the proper formatting since '03 (see NCBI and the original announcement). I already started going through and fixing them but some of the articles are also in fairly rough shape, so it's gonna take me a little bit (aiming to be done this weekend, but real life might get in the way). Just wanted to drop a heads-up here since it's edits to a buncha articles (~49 based on the cat page) CambrianCrab (talk) 02:07, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've gone through and cleaned up the italics in the article texts of the major examples. Haven't checked the tables in too much detail, and not much I can do for titles (page names) which are italicized. Thanks for bringing this to attention — 🪫Volatile 📲T | ⌨️C 07:23, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- Nice, thank you! I just fixed the page titles. I think that's all of them, but I'll give them another couple sweeps just in case. CambrianCrab (talk) 01:07, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
I am reviewing Draft:Acyl-CoA synthetase, and the title Acyl-CoA synthetase redirects to Acetyl-CoA synthetase. I think that my question includes how Acyl-CoA synthetase is related to Acetyl-CoA synthetase. My question as a reviewer is whether to accept Acyl-CoA synthetase, and, if so how to link what will then be two articles. I'm a chemist, not a biochemist, and I know enough to know that I don't know the answers. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:12, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
