Merging National Provincial Championship
I’d like to hear your thoughts on whether it makes sense to merge the two National Provincial Championship articles. I know this was discussed previously but ultimately rejected due to concerns about information overload. I believe combining them into a single article would benefit readers, similar to how other long-running domestic competitions are presented. This would provide a more streamlined resource, preventing duplication across two pages. Emulating something similar to the Australian Football League would make sense and easy to implement if fellow editors are on board. Kidsoljah (talk) 07:58, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Update Akira Ioane's Wikipedia article as information is outdated.
Please update Akira Ioane Wikipedia page as it's outdated. Thanks Power1345 (talk) 09:21, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- To Rugbyfan22 and Power1345: I do not make a habit of replying to requests on another editor's talk page without being asked to do so, but I was already working on an update of Akira Ioane's page, so it seems appropriate to make an exception. I have just finished and published that update.
- By the way, it's good to keep an eye on this page, because editors keep on incorrectly changing his birthplace to Japan, while the player himself has stated he was born in Auckland and the text contains a reference to a source that also states that fact. Sources that say he was born in Japan are wrong! Ruggalicious (talk) 16:04, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Rugbyfan22. Thank you for your work on Krish Patel. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Confirming notability through County Championship competitor. The structure is appropriate for the page type.

Hi Rugbyfan22. Thank you for your work on Alex Green (cricketer). Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for creating this page for an English cricketer who has represented his country (at least at U19) and play the highest domestic league (County).

Josh Smith = Joshua Smith
Hi Rugbyfan22, can you please change Josh Smith to Joshua Smith. I know there are several sources who use the name Josh, but that's not what he uses himself on his social media and there are also independent sources, here, here, here, here, here and many more. Thanks. Ruggalicious (talk) 11:37, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, have done this as requested. Apologies was going off the team release and TV broadcast. If more coverage begins to use just Josh though will revert back. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 11:46, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn't really matter what other coverage says. Joshua is his name. Josh is just a shortened form. Anyway, I'll expand the article when I can find the time to give it more substance. Ruggalicious (talk) 11:53, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
The Hundred
Hello. Unfortunately I've had to undo a number of your edits over the past day. There is one thing that I would like you to know
We get what role etc.. from their Wikipedia page.
I will keep looking at this page for a few days. But you could always contact me on my talk page.
Thanks Cricketer63 (talk) 20:39, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Cricketer63: Garton is listed as an allrounder on his Wikipedia page and ESPNCricinfo page. He has also batted as high as number 3 in previous Hundred tournaments, I think listing him as an allrounder is justified, especially for a short form tournament Rugbyfan22 (talk) 20:41, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
List of 2024–25 Super Rugby transfers
Hi Rugbyfan22, I've noticed you have made the new article List of 2024–25 Super Rugby transfers. Thanks for the effort, but may I ask why you've changed the format (and not discuss this change first)? I really prefer the previous format, which provides more comprehensive information. I realise this new format is used for other competitions, but one of the big downsides for me is that in this format you only see the "Players in" and "Players out", not the players that have stayed with a club. To get that information, you always have to click further to another page, while the "old" format gives you the information on one and the same page. Do you have any objection to going back to the format that we used for previous seasons? Ruggalicious (talk) 08:09, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Ruggalicious:, I've only changed the format this for ease of creation. I could put together the basic article in a day, hopefully if I have more time or if other users have more time they can convert back to the usual standard. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 18:57, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks Rugbyfan22! I've already started converting it to the usual format (not published, obviously). I expect to have a bit more time for it in the coming days. Ruggalicious (talk) 06:40, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- No problem, I unfortunately don't have the time currently. I'm keen to try and improve the statistics and record page but again just don't have the time to do bar the basics at the moment. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 18:55, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
