English: The Museo de La Plata opened in 1888 in La Plata, Argentina, under the directorship of Francisco Moreno. Today it has more than 400,000 visitors a year to see its natural history and anthropology exhibits. This is a cast of a monolithic sculpture belonging to the Recuay culture from the Central Andes of Peru, 200 to 600 AD.
