- Keep. Making an accusation that the creator of the article, MichaelQSchmidt, a Wikipedia Administrator with over 61,000 non-automated edits, is an undisclosed paid editor is a pretty bold statement. Aside from that, the subject of the article meets WP:CREATIVE #3 for his role as producer, co-director, and writer of Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey and possibly for Earth: Final Conflict but I haven't been able to independently verify his involvement in that series (but I haven't tried very hard). Fictional prison from Marvel/Spiderman verse. Pure plot summary and list of appearances. No reception, analysis, etc. The topic also has a section in Features of Spider-Man media (a problematic article that is currently discussed in its own AfD). I doubt we need even a single mention of this on Wikipedia outside a plot summary in some Spider-Man arc or comic; we certainly don't need two. This could be ATD-R to the mentioned article, but IMHO that one should be deleted as well, so... shrug. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:16, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to Features of Spider-Man media. Though that article is up for AfD right now, the content will likely be merged to another article if merged, or kept around if kept, so I'm comfortable leaving a redirect here. Features of the Marvel Universe is also a decent merge target should that article be kept, but it's a bit up in the air right now given all these AfDs are active at the same time. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 02:59, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Merge/Redirect I think we this we should wait with this discussion on the results of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of Spider-Man media and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Universe, both potential merge targets. Both are covering this topic. But they could benefit from some references here. This ScreenRant article, while not establishing notability, has relevant commentary to show that this topic can be covered beyond just plot-summary and real-world appearances. Daranios (talk) 11:15, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Comment - If you want this discussion to wait until the previously mentioned AFD debates have concluded, why do you have merge/redirect verdict instead of a suggestion the Delay the AFD verdict or something like that? --Rtkat3 (talk) 02:09, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don't presume to speak for Daranios who I am sure will correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming they agree the nominating topic is not notable and should be merged/redirect somewhere, with the best target being in the air for now, depending on whether the other mentioned article or articles survives the AfD or not. Pure plot summary and list of apperances; the bit on development is unreferenced and there is no reception, not even any listicles. Fails WP:GNG and my BEFORE failed to find anything that's not a plot summary. Since it's just plot, not seeing what we can do here except merge a few sentences (lead?) to Batman#Technology. (If anyone cares, Batsub was just blodly blanked and redirected looong time ago without any AfD... there was also a Batboat, I think). The concepts are mentioned briefly in the suggested redirect target - that's probably enough for now... Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:20, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- Merge to Batman#Technology. There is at least some commentary in secondary sources on individual incarnations: [1], [2], [3], p. 70, [4], [5]. Daranios (talk) 15:39, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

A far cry from Quinjet or Blackbird; anyway, just a minor fictional element of the DC universe, pure plot summary, and list of appearances. Fails WP:GNG. Again, no idea where this could redirect, but I'd support a redirect over hard deletion if anyone has any suggestion. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:03, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to Wonder Woman#Invisible Plane. I did a search and found a good plot summary hit from Nerdist but every other hit has been trivial mentions or Valnet. There's a perfectly valid section to contain this info, as even with Nerdist, which is all plot summary, there isn't really enough to build a whole article on with this, so a redirect should suffice. If anyone wants to merge anything else, I am unopposed. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 18:57, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Very minor element of the Superman universe; short article, pure plot summary and list of appearances. Fails WP:GNG. No idea where this could redirect, but always open to consider redirection a viable alternative to hard deletion (closer, please note: if anyone suggests a target, consider me to support it). - Reluctant delete unless a merge target can be found. There's not really a good merge target for this. Perhaps to Superman#Merchandising given the one source mentioned here mentions it was used exclusively for that purpose? But even so it'd be a brief sentence. This is an extremely minor universe element, so there's not much to be retained here. If a good merge target is found I'll change my vote to merge, so ping me if something changes. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 02:56, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep or merge with Superman in the spirit of WP:PRESERVE. We need an equipment or technology section to that page if the Supermobile going to be redirected there as we already know that Batman has a similar section on his page. --Rtkat3 (talk) 02:07, 15 February 2025 (UTC)

Following from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Universe (3rd nomination) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this is the last of those three fictional universe descriptions in a list form. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NLIST; Wikipedia articles are not places for pure plot summaries, and as a list, this is too broad (list of all fictional in-universe concepts related to Spider-Man). PS. Also, on the off chance this is kept, this would need renaming to the list of something format. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC) PS. Looking closely, this article is not even an attempt at a comprehensive list; it is just a short but in-depth description of just three entities that would unlikely have survived on their own and were cobbled tougher in attempt to hide from GNG: "Empire State University", "Midtown High School" and "Ravencroft" (prison). The latter currently has a poor stand-alone article, which is not even linked from this fancrufty mess here.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:13, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep or Merge and consolidate into Spider-Man: While this can definitely be improved upon, I am not leaning as strongly on retaining this one as the others because it could be consolidated into the Spider-Man article with considerable details removed (namely the exhaustive list of school students and faculty). Trailblazer101 (talk) 02:28, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Trailblazer101 I am curious what difference do you see here? I struggle to find any myself. (And on a side note, splitting Marvel and Marvel Cinematic stuff is still puzzling to me, as so much of it is redundant - how about at least merging the two other articles into one?) Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:49, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- The Marvel Comics and MCU are two separate franchises, so a merge is not a viable option there. I'm not sure how the content from this list could be implemented into the Spidey article or to what extent, though I would imagine a trimmed section for related attributes of the character's features from the schools to his web-shooters, costumes, etc. could suffice. - Keep. This article was created in the first place so we would not need to have separate articles on each school and business associated with Spider-Man (all of which could survive as freestanding articles, given their representation across multiple media over decades). This should have the same outcome as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Universe (3rd nomination), both of which are on track to be kept resoundingly. BD2412 T 01:08, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Similar articles regularly get deleted; they have no stand-alone notability (if they had, they'd have their own articles). Adding them to a list is just listcruft. 0+0+0 still equals 0. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:11, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- There are items listed in this article that already have stand-alone notability, beginning with the Daily Bugle. BD2412 T 02:17, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- While it may appear that way to you, there are several editors of these comic-related articles who would disagree with that assertion (based on the two other AfDs). Each of these entries could stand as individual articles but were agreed to be merged into this singular list via prior discussions and consensus in those that a singular list would better highlight all of these features related to the character as opposed to being separate articles. There is nothing which precludes such compiled lists from existing, and there are decent sources, with potential for more to be added rather than a complete deletion which would break countless links and leave out much information from this encyclopedia that our readers would be searching for. - Merge and consolidate into Spider-Man per Trailblazer. I was worried this would be some massive pile of information to sift through, but the info in the article is relatively concise. Barring the three locations with pre-existing articles, there are two schools and one prison. These locations contain a lot of unneeded information (Do we really need lists of minor characters without articles?) and can be trimmed quite easily to slot somewhere into the Spider-Man article. All locations, including those with articles, can be mentioned in brief there, with a summary explaining what each location is and why it is important to the Spider-Man mythos. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 02:53, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep Meets WP:CSC point 2. Jclemens (talk) 08:12, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- CSC only applies if none meet notability, which is blatantly false when three of the article's entries have their own articles. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 14:01, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- An all-or-nothing rule seems ill-considered here, given that Wikipedia has tons of lists of instances for which some are notable and have articles while others are not (e.g., List of mayors of Florence). BD2412 T 17:23, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- Notability of a list is often based on the notability of the subject group. Largely unfamiliar with your hyperlinked article, but an important governmental position is likely to be more covered in sources than a list of fictional locations with no sourcing showcasing real world relevance. Many of the subjects in the list are entirely non-notable, and the subject itself isn't notable, either. Notability should not be inherited from the few locations that are notable, either.
- Also note that CSC 2 says that "Before creating a stand-alone list, consider carefully whether such lists would be better placed within a "parent" article." CSC 2 isn't exactly a blanket keep statement, even if all the subjects fail notability. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 17:49, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- My reasoning here is that Spider-Man is an article on a specific fictional character, not the entire universe this character occupies, which is separately notable. Although this universe is a subset of the Marvel Comics universe it has locations and characters (many of these separately notable) that arise from it and that are specific to Spider-Man media. This is reflected in fact that there are three separate film franchises, including the 1970s one, around this character and their environs completely unconnected to the MCU or anything else Marvel. Of course, there is also the MCU-adjacent film series, which also reflects the locations and character specific to the Spider-Man universe. Perhaps the title of this article needs to be adjusted to reflect that or the criteria for inclusion of content needs to be clarified, but it will not be at all difficult to demonstrate GNG worthy coverage at this fictional world I've tried with the character itself. Same problems as with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Universe (3rd nomination) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of Spider-Man media - this is just a plot summary of that universe in a list form. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NLIST (too broad - we don't allow pure plot summaries of fictional universes in prose, and trying to "cheat" by listifying them is not cute). PS. Also, on the off chance this is kept, this would need renaming to the list of something format. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:48, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- Strong Keep: Echoing arguments from prior AfDs of the Marvel Universe features list, this is not just plot summaries, but descriptive information of different elements from this franchise (which is notable) and some of their real-world attributes, like how some objects were made. This list was not conceived to avert deleting redirects as you have insinuated, so I would encourage you to WP:Assume good faith in this list's existence; no one is trying to "cheat" or WP:Game the system here. If you think this list needs improvement, then that is something to discuss at the list's talk page, not at AfD, because WP:AFDISNOTCLEANUP. There have already been discussions at the talk about potential ways to improve it, so I encourage you to collaborate there first before bringing up another AfD. Also, a rename or change in scope is not warranted nor what AfD is to be used for. Trailblazer101 (talk) 02:22, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep In parallel to my opinion on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Features of the Marvel Universe (3rd nomination), I believe this list does fulfill WP:NLIST, being the complementary list to the notable Marvel Cinematic Universe. It does fulfill two common functions of lists: navigation for the blue-linked entries, and collection of information on features which are not notable by themselves as in WP:ATD-M. For the latter type of entries, this list needs more commentary based on secondary sources and possibly trimming, but these are matter of normal editing and therefore do not warrant deletion as WP:AFDISNOTCLEANUP. Also see e.g. the entry on Dora Milaje uniform for a positive example of a brief entry that contains plot-summary and real-world information based on secondary sources. So this is already now not pure plot-summary, and noone is trying to "cheat" here. I suggest to those most bothered by the current state to WP:JUSTFIXIT. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is sprawling enough to produce articles like Infinity Stones or The Blip, so that a "features" list makes sense here even though that may not be the case for other fictional universes (also, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). This is also the corresponding list to Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe features in accordance with WP:CLN. With regard to the name, I don't really see a need to change this to List of features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the balance between being concise and precise, but have not strong opinion on this. Daranios (talk) 12:38, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: There are plenty of noteworthy fictional elements from across the MCU that can be included on Wikipedia with appropriate sourcing and real-world discussion, and it makes sense to have a central location for the ones that are not noteworthy enough for their own articles. If there are concerns about the way this is being done, i.e. too much focus on plot details over real-world discussion or concerns that the list is violating WP:ISNOT, then that should be discussed at the article's talk page. Those are not reason enough to delete the whole thing. - adamstom97 (talk) 12:39, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: I think that a good alternative would be to include reception and creator/creative discussions of these locations, objects, and events in the article. It doesn't have to go into super depth, but something like offhand mentions of why someone went a certain way with a given object or event could be good. This could be particularly useful for items or locations that don't have articles but have received some level of criticism/discussion in reliable sources. I'm not particularly interested in doing this myself, but wanted to throw this out there as a possibility. For example, this source discusses the Witches' Road from Agatha All Along. That location doesn't have an article (and probably doesn't need one) so this could be a good place to put that location specific content other than the main page for the series (particularly if focusing specifically on the road could put undue weight in the series article). - My sentiments exactly. I was just about to add that to my !vote above. Daranios (talk) 15:39, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Years ago, when WP:FANCRUFT concerns had been raised with this article and others, I painstakingly went through each entry on the list and added in well-sourced real-world information on its background, development, reception, etc. I never finished, not only because it was time-consuming but also because it was pretty much a one-man job, and nowadays, I no longer have as much time to edit Wikipedia as I used to. Back in the day, we had several editors maintaining these lists, but our numbers have gradually dwindled (probably has to do with the MCU losing swaths of its fanbase due to its declining quality in recent years, but I digress). The point is, these sources are out there; they just need to be found and added to the article — WP:NEXIST. For starters, we've got plenty of information on our existing film/TV articles that can easily be copied over. As others have noted, however, this is not the appropriate venue to discuss these changes, as WP:AFDISNOTCLEANUP. InfiniteNexus (talk) 19:04, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

- Keep per Wikipedia:AFDISNOTCLEANUP. I agree this list is kind of shit. It has no defined inclusion criteria, a large number of redirects, and an uncertain degree of notability, but this is more of a page content issue right now. I'd advise some form of discussion for what content should be removed from the page. Perhaps remove one-off locations, items associated with particular characters, etc, and move them to more relevant articles or article subsections. Like, does the antiques store from one Captain America film need to be mentioned? Do Kilmonger's scars need to be listed here? Regardless, I'd say this list needs to be ironed out before a proper consensus on its content can really be determined. AfD just isn't the right venue for this kind of discussion. This is a place where a bunch of non-notable Marvel Universe topics "went to die" :/ Effectively a gigantic list of stuff (places, organizations, objects, and, uh, cosmic forces...), haphazardly collected and organized. There is no need for this effectively list of all in-universe concepts related to Marvel Universe to exist, it's pure WP:FANCRUFT, failing WP:GNG and WP:NLIST (too broad, pointless). This could be at best WP:ATD-Redirected to Marvel Universe, on the off-chance something here would be useful to merge there (but it's just a plot summary of niche concepts, so I doubt its needed). PS. Note we only have four "Features of" articles on Wikipedia. Those include: Features of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (sigh), Features of Spider-Man media and a bit different but still likely needing to go, Features of the Opera web browser; expect to see them all AfD shortly...). PPS. AFDs started. Also, on the off chance this is kept, this would need renaming to the list of something format. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:43, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

- While Wikipedia:Blow it up and start over is an acceptable conclusion at times, there is clear consensus against this rationale being the sole solution to the problems of this list. There are other avenues to explore before blowing content up, and work to improve such content ought to be done before going all the way with yet another deletion proposal. I would like to see concerns raised at the list's talk regarding the current problems there and proposals on how to adequately address them without diluting focus on the content or removing it entirely. One editor's apparent disliking of a select list type existing should not be unilaterally imposed on all other editors and the content of all the similar lists. - This was never meant to be a list of all stuff from this fictional universe, and I think assuming this is a misconstruction. This is currently only vaguely spelled out by the lede saying "noteworthy concepts", but it's also kind of common sense. Just compare the number of items we have on our list to the roughly 100.000 (!) articles on "features" (as opposed to characters and comics) which Marvel Database has. If subjective judgement of what should be included is considered insufficient, dicussing and formulating a selection critereon is again part of normal editing and therefore its lack is no grounds for deletion. "Has this feature been noted by secondary sources" might be a critereon that could work for the non-blue-linked items. If this were to be newly implemented, however, I believe checking for sources first, and deleting if this fails afterwards should be the way to go, not the other way round. I redirected based on there being only a database source. This was undone, and a new source (this book) was added. That book comes from an author and publisher who do not seem to be notable as I can barely find any info on either, and the book itself appears to be full of reprinted comics and no valuable prose. There's also little to suggest notability of this subject, nor the few bluelinked strips listed here. This appears to be a subject of very niche interest, and probably not something that would've gotten a ton of coverage. I would stick with the redirect to The Topper (comics). So, there's some interesting stuff here in the form of well written and referenced text on "The maritime world in The Adventures of Tintin", but this is wrapped in fancrufty and poorly referenced list that fails WP:NLIST (and while the list appears to have plenty of footnotes, many are just unreferenced notes or commentary). As a list, I think his has no reason to exist, but the content could probably be merged somewhere, or maybe split (or perhaps we could just delete the list part of this article and rename it?). It's a weird case, I've very rarely seen some good content bundled with bad one in such a way... If this is somehow kept, obviously, this is not a list of boats, but ships (or ships and boats?). - Keep: For what it's worth, the corresponding article in French is a GA. The topic is covered in a dedicated book! Horeau, Y. (1999). Tintin, Haddock et les bateaux. (Among other existing sources) Meets WP:NL. Topic addressed as a set.The rest of the issues are normal issues that can be handled through normal editing. Most of the ships in Tintin are notable, btw. Even see GNews -Mushy Yank. 19:12, 2 February 2025 (UTC)

- Keep per Mushy Yank. BilletsMauves€500 10:50, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and WP:NLIST. I'm only seeing trivial mentions and plot details. The relevant plot stuff is already mentioned at the main series article, which would be an acceptable redirect target, per WP:ATD. Shooterwalker (talk) 20:54, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep and rename to List of ships in The Adventures of Tintin as more appropriate title (I assume this might come from French "bateaux" as in the title of Horeu's book meaning both ships and boats). As already pointed out by Mushy Yank there are secondary sources with enough coverage as to fullfill WP:LISTN. Everything else are problems which can be solved through normal editing and are therefore no grounds for deletion. If someone wants to transform this into a fully prose article, or even expand the scope to The sea in The Adventures of Tintin, I have no objections. But these again would be editorial decisions which are no grounds for deleting what we have now. Daranios (talk) 16:35, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, BD2412 T 02:06, 9 February 2025 (UTC)- Keep The book citation provided by Mushy Yank, as well as other secondary sources that are already in the article, indicate that the ships have been discussed as a group, therefore alleviating the main concern of the nominator and the other delete voters. Simply citing the policy without explaining why it violates NLIST like some have done here is a very poor deletion rationale. Obviously, the article needs to be renamed to List of ships in The Adventures of Tintin, but all of the issues in the article can be resolved through editing and are not indicative of a fundamental flaw that warrants full deletion. Billclinton1996 (talk) 07:31, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Merge some of the content on Secret of the Unicorn and Red Sea Sharks to their respective articles. I was somewhat hesitant, but a deeper look at the sources reveals that there is quite literally only one piece of SIGCOV, that being the book Yank mentioned above. Much of the dev info is about individual ships COATRACKED together, and not as the discussion of boats as a whole. Some of this info is worthwhile for preservation at individual subjects, but one SIGCOV piece and a lot of COATRACKING just isn't enough to base an entire article on. WP:NOTINHERITED, George here is only known in connection with his famous son Leonardo DiCaprio. His "acting debut" is a very small few second cameo, his work as a writer/artist (not really clear) fails WP:ARTIST and his work as a filmmaker fails WP:FILMMAKER, getting a small stint editing on local newspapers does not make you notable. Source 5 in the article shows he's worked on... three comics? Don't know if it's even reliable as a source but clearly not noteworthy in itself. jolielover♥talk 14:54, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

- Keep — Note expanded bibliography, which establishes DiCaprio as an active editor and writer in the underground movement in the 1970s (extending into the early 1980s). -- stoshmaster (talk) 19:00, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- He stills fails WP:AUTHOR, as none of his work in the bibliography is notable. jolielover♥talk 03:30, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- I beg to differ. The entire underground comix movement was designed to change people's perceptions of what stories were "worth" telling in the comics format, so many products of that era fail a mainstream definition of "notablity". Nonetheless, the material produced during that era changed the comics industry forever, heralding the alternative comics movement and the rise of the graphic novel. That history has been well established. DiCaprio's role during that time as a writer, publisher, editor, and distributor is also well-established. Not to mention that he collaborated with such "notable" artists as Justin Green and Jay Kinney, and contributed to anthologies such as Arcade and Slow Death. -- stoshmaster (talk) 16:32, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yours is an admirably expressive and nuanced opinion. However, our own take matters very little as far as a person's notability is concerned. Sources rule-The Gnome (talk) 20:07, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
