Vitanová (Hungarian: Vitanova) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1550.^{[citation needed]}

The municipality lies at an altitude of 699 metres (2,293 ft)^[3] and covers an area of 45.79 km² (17.68 sq mi) (2024).^[4]

It has a population of 1319 people (31 December 2024).^[6]

In year 2021 was 1321 people by ethnicity 1309 as Slovak, 14 as Not found out, 4 as Czech, 1 as Russian and 1 as Polish.
