The Potato Lab (Korean: 감자연구소) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh. The series is about Mi-kyung, who is obsessed with potatoes and is swept away by the principled Baek-ho like a tornado potato. It is scheduled to premiere on tvN on March 1, 2025, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST).

Synopsis

Set in a mountain valley at a potato research center, the series is about a woman named Kim Mi-kyung, a potato-crazy researcher who is starting a fresh life again, and So Baek-ho, who energizes her fighting spirit.

Production

Development

The Potato Lab was developed under the working title Potato Research Institute, is a romantic comedy series directed by Kang Il-soo, written by Kim Ho-soo, and produced by Chorokbaem Media.[4]

Casting

Kang Tae-oh, who was completing his military service, is reportedly considering on March 18, 2024.[5] The next day, Kang and Lee Sun-bin were reportedly confirmed to appear, respectively.[6][7] On May 14, tvN officially confirmed the casting of Kang and Lee.[4]

Release

The Potato Lab is scheduled to premiere on tvN on March 1, 2025, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST).[1]
