The opening para of the main text looks highly questionable. As Rupert D'Oyly Carte was born in 1876, Coleman's father could not, in 1875, have been one of the stewards at Carte's golf club. Secondly, Carte did not own any hotels in 1899 when Coleman was 24. He took over the management of the Savoy group in 1903, two years after his father's death.
