"Dzongkha" written in Joyig script.

The Joyig script or Jyoyig (མགྱོགས་ཡིག་) is an abugida writing system used in Bhutan to write Dzongkha. It is considered halfway between the Üchen (དབུ་ཅན་) and Chugyig (ཁྱུག་ཡིག་) scripts.[1] Known also as Lhoyig or Drukyig, it is believed to have been drafted by the translator Denma Tsemang in the 8th century. Because it is like an Uchen written speedily, it got its name Joyig or "fast script".[2]
