English: Radio image of the galaxy M87, located 50 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo (VLA radio telescope, February 1989). A black hole at the galaxy's center is thought to be the source of the particle jets from which the radio waves reach us. The distorted colors correspond to the intensity of the radiation.
Français : Image dans les ondes radio de la fr:galaxie fr:M87, située à 50 millions d'années lumière, dans la fr:constellation de la Vierge (radiotélescop VLA, Février 1989). Un fr:trou noir au centre de la galaxie serait à l'origine des jets de particules dont nous parviennent les ondes radio. Les couleurs faussées correspondent à l'intensité du rayonnement.
