Description
English: Warm-up sequence of a Philips SOX 35W U-shaped low-pressure sodium-vapor lamp:

1., 2. As the lamp's turned on, the Penning mixture starts glowing in a faint pink color (strongly resembling the light of the neon signs).
3., 4. As the sodium evaporates, gradually the whole lamp gives a bright, yellowish, monochromatic light.

The excess amount of metallic sodium is also visible in strategically placed dents on both the top and the bottom of the tube (and also the wall of the bottom tube).

1., 2. A bekapcsolás után először a lámpában lévő Penning-keverék kezd el (a neonreklámok fényéhez hasonlóan) halványrózsaszínen világítani
3.,4. Ahogy a nátrium egyre jobban párolog, a rózsaszín fokozatosan erős, monokromatikus sárgába megy át.

A képeken az egyenletes távolságban elhelyezett dudorokban (meg a kisülőcső alsó részének falán) a fölöslegben adagolt fémnátrium is jól látható.

Slovenčina: Zahrievacia fáza 35 wattovej Philips SOX nízkotlakovej sodíkovej výbojky:

1., 2. Po zapnutí najprv začne slabou ružovou farbou (podobnou neónovým reklamám) svietiť Penningovská zmes výbojky.
3., 4. Popri priebežnom odparovaní sodíka svetlo postupne naberie silnú, monochromatickú žltú farbu.

Na obrázkoch je viditeľné v rovnomerne rozložených dutinkách (a na dolnej stene výbojovej trubice) aj zámerne dávkované nadbytočné množstvo kovového sodíku.
