TÄNA AJALOOS, 6. oktoober ⟩ Linastus esimene helifilm

1927 – linastus esimene helifilm «The Jazz Singer» (ee ’džässilaulja’) Al Jolsoniga peaosas.

Filmi «The Jazz Singer» staatus esimese helifilmina on küll vaieldav – heli oli tegelikult kasutatud juba teisteski filmides ja siingi on inimese kõnet kuulda vaid mõne minuti jagu, kuid siiski peetakse selle filmi linastumise aastat laialdaselt helifilmi algusajaks. Kuulsaks on saanud ka filmi peategelase ütlus «You ain’t heard nothing yet» (ee «te pole veel midagi kuulnud!»), mida ta kuulutab enne laulma hakkamist.

Oma ajas oli film suur kassahitt.

1933 – riigikohus tühistas otsuse sulgeda Tartu vabadussõjalaste liit.

1944 – Tallinna Ringhääling alustas saateid Berliinist.

1992 – Eesti presidendi ametisse astus Lennart Meri, andes riigikogu ees ametivande.

1995 – puhkenud lindiskandaali asjus esines õhtul televisioonis avaldusega president Lennart Meri. Ta ütles, et tegemist ei ole skandaaliga, vaid demokraatliku riigi kriisiga.

2003 – seni veel ainsa Eesti ajalehena suureformaadilisena ilmunud venekeelne ajaleht Estonija hakkas ilmuma väiksemas formaadis.

2010 – AS Prisma Peremarket avas Narvas 9000 ruutmeetri suuruse kaupluse. See oli kaupluseketi esimese kauplus väljaspool Tallinna.

1536 – Inglise usureformaator ja piiblitõlkija William Tyndale kägistati surnuks Brüsseli lähedal Vilvardes ketserina ja tema laip põletati tuleriidal.

1567 – Alba hertsog sai Madalmaade asehalduriks.

1600 – Firenzes esietendus vanim tänini säilinud ooper, Jacopo Peri «Eurydike». Seda sündmust loetakse mõnikord barokkajastu alguseks.

1849 – Aradis hukati kolmteist Ungari ülestõusnut.

1860 – Teine oopiumisõda: Briti ja Prantsuse väed vallutasid Pekingi. Järgmistel päevadel rüüstati ja hävitati Vana ja Uus Suvepalee.

1889 – Pariisis Montmartre’is avati lõbustuslokaal Moulin Rouge. Sellest sai maailma tuntum kabaree.
