Terry Saunders, born Sadie Termini,[citation needed] was a film and Broadway performer. She is most widely known for playing Lady Thiang in the film and stage versions of The King And I, first as a replacement on Broadway,[2] then in the film, performing the song "Something Wonderful" in both. Saunders had five other roles on Broadway [2] and guest starred on an episode of Make Room For Daddy. She died in 2011.[1][3]
Personal life
Saunders and actor James Hurst had a daughter, Sheryl (born in 1959), whom she lived with until her death. Saunders' and Hurst's relationship ended in 1963.[1]

Neither of her parents was Jewish. [Sheryl Hurst] was born three years after her mother, Terry Saunders, sang in the 1956 Hollywood version of "The King and I" as the head wife, Lady Thiang. Ms. Hurst's younger father, James Hurst, played cowboys in television westerns. Her parents broke up when she was about 4. … She had always lived with her mother and was devastated by her death in 2011.
