This article has good sourcing, clear biography, and accounts of Uschner’s political transition. To reach Good Article level, the lead should preview all major phases of his life; more secondary/scholarly analysis of his influence or legacy should be added; and additional visual/media assets would help. These issues are fixable within the hold period. Crystalite13 (talk · contribs) 23:12, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

- @Crystalite13 Hi, thanks for your review. I've expanded the lead and added a few other miscellaneous things. unfortunately, there isn't a lot of secondary/scholarly analysis of his influence in addition to the secondary newspaper sources I've used (references 3, 4, 5 and 13), there's one article that mentions him in passing, but that one doesn't relate to anything in the article. There are a lot of picture that the article would benefit from, there's a few pictures of him from a 1987 press conference in West Germany and another pictures of him at a 1994 meeting with social democrats including Egon Bahr. But all of these are from Imago, which Wikipedia disallows. I do plan to include a picture of Uschner's community urn plot like I did with Ilse Stephan, but I only visit Berlin a few times a year. - Apologizes for long delay, was busy with other reviews, will complete my more in-depth one soon! Crystalite13 (talk) 18:20, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Maxwhollymoralground? Please respond soon Crystalite13 (talk) 16:34, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Crystalite13 thanks for the revised review; I'm in Santiago de Compostela until Monday, so the remaining two points I'll address then. Media for Uschner is hard to come by as I explained earlier; the infobox picture does have a valid non-free rationale as far as I know. I did try to put the exact dates when they where available. I do think 1 September 1968 is important considering we also have his exact exit date, 20 February 1989. Maxwhollymoralground (talk) 19:29, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hm,alright. Crystalite13 (talk) 20:10, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Since my only comment at this time is a minor linking one, I'll pass this article. Crystalite13 (talk) 16:27, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

User:Crystalite13: Your comments to the nominator are good and appropriate, but this review will need more substance to qualify as a valid GA review. Prose (Criteria 1a, 1b, 4)
Tick for most part isn't bad. Written well, and no large issues at this time other than a linking suggestion
Lead
Lead reviewed and expanded

Early career
Suggest linking "Abitur"
SED Central Committee
is "on 1 September 1968" really necessary? I would think something like "in early September 1968"

Downfall
No issues here
Reunified Germany
No issues here
Sources
It took some time, but I managed to translate all the German sources, and even though the translation wasn't perfect, they seemed to reference correctly
Reliability (Criterion 2b)
The sources seem to come from federal archives or established German newspapers so that's good

Checked with Earwig's Copyvio Detector, low percent of copyvio.
Scope (Criteria 3a, 3b)
Good here!
Stable (Criterion 5)
Good here!
Media
What's a bit concerning to me is the low number of media present in the article
Tags (Criterion 6a)
There's also a warning on the file page (the INFOBOX image) about adding non-free use rationale.
