"Apparently produced around 1542, it was one of the earliest maps to depict Baja California as a peninsula rather than an island." This remark is worded (i.e., "rather than") such that it almost sounds anachronistic. California was not depicted as an island until 1622.

Should be somehow connected to his famous

Portolan Chart (King-Hamy) from approximately 1502. Revery (talk) 09:58, 29 December 2024 (UTC) The date doesn't fit, but that was the initial dating, later changed. King or Hamy was a map collector from the 19th century. This is not the map shown in this article. I asked AI.[reply]
