Description
English: The A.S.L. motorcycle introduced by Air Springs Ltd in July 1909, and manufactured until c. 1914. The frame has suspension at both front and rear and the suspension units are pneumatic. The type of seal was a rolling "mitten" as patented by Archibald Sharp and William Thomas Shaw in January 1901 – this ensured no loss of air allowing the units to be pressurised according to the rider's needs. The rear suspension is by a trailing link not unlike the front girder fork linkage.
