Information icon Hi, Aplucas0703. Thanks for patrolling new pages. I've declined your deletion request for a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to read the new tutorial for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! ~2025-31245-28 (talk) 03:58, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Ebi Sukore

Hi there! I wanted to let you know I've declined your A7 speedy deletion nomination of Ebi Sukore because there is a credible claim to significance, which is a lower bar than notability. If you think Sukore does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for athletes, feel free to nominate for deletion via AfD. Thank you! Speedy deletion of my StudentBCS Page

Hey, Aplucas0703!

I just wanted to write to you to say that I completely misunderstood the reason behind your speedy deletion request and I apologise for contesting it. GuiG16 (talk) 00:51, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@GuiG16 All is good, might be helpful just to reply to yourself on the talk page and clarify you aren't contesting it anymore. Thanks for letting me know. aaronneallucas (talk) 00:54, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have done that now, than you for telling me to. Thanks for your kind approach and helpfulness! GuiG16 (talk) 01:02, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

Hey Aplucas! I was hoping to add a barnstar to your page, but it didn't work. I'm not sure why, but I assume you put something in place to prevents edits from others from working? Either way, if you want to, feel free to add the Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar to your page with the message "For his kindness and willingness to help by offering to be my mentor! - GuiG" GuiG16 (talk) 22:21, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from BirdmanCan (16:52, 9 December 2025)

Hi, I am a rare disease advocate living in Canada. We need a way to distribute and make available to the Canadian public, the information we are collecting to support the rare disease community in Canada. Do you think that Wikipedia is a good site to store and update this type of information? --BirdmanCan (talk) 16:52, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@BirdmanCan Thanks for your interest in contributing to Wikipedia! The answer is: it depends. If you are asking if Wikipedia would be a good place to make information accessible to the public, the answer to that would be yes. Do consider that Wikipedia must maintain neutrality and is not for self-promotion of an individual or organization. If you want to expand Wikipedia's coverage of rare diseases, and include resources for those rare diseases within the articles, that would be much appreciated by the community and our readers. Again, just keep in mind that any addition must be worded neutrally.
Any information you add should be cited to a reliable, secondary source. Additionally, do note that information and articles you add to Wikipedia become open to everyone to edit, so if you are looking to maintain information without being changed by others, Wikipedia would not be a good choice. However, if you are okay with your contributions being refined and updated by others without permission, Wikipedia would be a great choice.
Let me know if you have any more questions or need further clarification! aaronneallucas (talk) 17:05, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is great.
I am good with the neutrality rules and that it can be edited. It will be solid information for our community and maybe other countries.
Are all articles and updates immediately posted or is there a process to make it available to the public?
Who makes decisions on if an article or update is retained?4
Thanks! ~2025-39435-66 (talk) 19:46, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@~2025-39435-66 @BirdmanCan
Summary: Updates (edits) to existing articles are immediate, but other editors can also undo them, which you can start a discussion about. You can submit draft articles at Articles for Creation through the Article Wizard, or move it right to the mainspace if you're confident that the article is ready. The community will decide together what should be in articles and what articles should be deleted, discussions you can start or participate in yourself.
Long explanation: Once an edit is made to an existing article, it is immediately visible on Wikipedia. Article creations are more complicated, but upon publishing they are also immediately visible. Wikipedia has 2 processes for publishing an article. The first is "Articles for Creation," in which other editors will review a draft of the article and evaluate it against Wikipedia's criteria for a new article. If they believe it meets the criteria, they will move it to the mainspace (that's the visible space on Wikipedia that our readers will see). If they think not, they'll explain why and invite you to fix the issues and resubmit. The Articles for Creation process can, unfortunately, be quite slow at times. To start a new article draft, you can visit the Article Wizard. You can work on it and submit it when you're ready.
The second process can be used by any autoconfirmed editor (10 edits after 4 days of registration). You can start your draft and move it to the mainspace yourself when it's ready (or submit through the Articles for Creation process, if you want feedback first). It won't appear in search engines until a new page reviewer "patrols" the page (or until 90 days after its move to the mainspace, whichever comes first) but will still appear on Wikipedia immediately.
As for who decides what stays, the answer is: the community. No editor carries more weight than another editor, regardless of their time on the website, number of edits, or the special user rights they might have. They might have the right to perform certain actions that other editors could not, but their actions are not "final". Articles can be deleted with little notice only under very specific criteria (WP:SPEEDY), otherwise, the community is will discuss it at Articles for Deletion. You will be notified if another editor tags your page for "speedy deletion" or if they nominate an article you made for deletion.
Final advice: Be bold in your edits. Don't ask permission to fix something, just fix it! Make Wikipedia better where you can. We appreciate new editors. Continue to ask any questions you may have. aaronneallucas (talk) 20:43, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Review of Draft:Bacus

@Aplucas0703 You recently reviewed Draft:Bacus and I'm not sure how to proceed. Do I really have to start from scratch? I believe the copyright violations were due to not properly quoting the text. These were for award citations that were meant to be quoted. Can I add them back with proper quote notation? The citations were in the Reference column for each award presented. Also, BACUS is an organization that organizes conferences regarding photomask technology. BACUS invites both users and vendors to share experiences and advances in the photomask technology space. Each of the articles cited covered a conference held by BACUS so are not mere mentions as they are solely focused on a particular conference put on by BACUS.

Josbens (talk) 21:52, 11 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Josbens The issue is that the largest chunk of the content (notability wise) comes from article in journals by this organization. Not really the independent sources we need to establish notability. And yes, the content needs to be properly quoted. You can fix it by properly quoting it. Check the WikiText when you edit, and you'll notice that the content is still there. You can edit it, and another administrator will redact previous versions with copyrighted content.
Also please consider whether or not you are excessively quoting, paraphrase in your own words when possible. aaronneallucas (talk) 22:10, 11 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Sayed Sabbir Ahamed (07:03, 12 December 2025)

I have already publish my 3 research paper through a open access journals , can I upload those papers in wikipedia ? --Sayed Sabbir Ahamed (talk) 07:03, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Sayed Sabbir Ahamed If they are under a compatible license, they should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. You can also add it into Wikisource if you choose (I'll guide you on this part if you want to, but it's not necessary that you do this).
Make sure the license is compatible! Not all licenses described as "open source" are compatible with Wikimedia Commons. If the license restricts the creation of derivative works or a work's commercial use, it isn't suited for Wikipedia. In which case, consider uploading it to the Internet Archive (and maybe doing that anyway)! aaronneallucas (talk) 08:21, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

Could you explain why you considered "OscarBucks (Nigerian record producer and songwriter)" to be vandalism?

Wholly unsourced, yes, but it looks reasonably sincere. DS (talk) 04:40, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DragonflySixtyseven Besides being written incoherently, I cannot find a single reference online to this person. Not even just "not mentioned in reliable sources" but literally no mention. Perhaps I could have better tagged as a hoax or gibberish, but I think vandalism best characterizes the page for its writing and possibly non-existent subject. aaronneallucas (talk) 05:12, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'll concede though that I probably should've just tagged for lack of notability since that was more cut and dry. Sorry if I made it more difficult than it should've been! aaronneallucas (talk) 05:23, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from CairoWriter72 (08:45, 13 December 2025)

Hello , If a citation is from printed material published 20 years ago, how does Wikipedia handle it, and will it be accepted? --CairoWriter72 (talk) 08:45, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@CairoWriter72 It depends a bit. What matters more is the reliability of the material itself. There is no time-limit for how old a source can be. However, on scientific topics, newer sources might be expected if the information is outdated. aaronneallucas (talk) 20:01, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Aplucas0703. Thank you for your work on Barbigha railway station. Another editor, MPGuy2824, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

This would need to be mentioned in the target article to avoid surprising readers.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

-MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:03, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@MPGuy2824 It was reviewed as part of the New Page Patrol on my end, draftifying the original article for this page because it lacked substantial sources. Per advice at WP:RAIL I just blanked the page and redirected it rather than nominating for speedy deletion. aaronneallucas (talk) 15:59, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You chose the redirect target for a reason, I assume. Possibly you found something on google about how the two stations are near each other. If you can include that in the target page it would be great, otherwise the redirect is a prime target for WP:RfD where WP:RSURPRISE is frequently cited as a reason to delete. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:19, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Rouzey (12:08, 15 December 2025)

How can I edit I want to have my own edits --Rouzey (talk) 12:08, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Rouzey Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. I've left a list of helpful resources on your talk page. I also encourage you to make suggested edits from your user homepage. You can edit any article by clicking the edit button at the top right of the article, or by clicking edit on any subsection. Keep in mind that a handful of articles may have been "protected" from editing by newer users due to persistent vandalism of those pages. Eventually, with more contributions and time spent on Wikipedia, you will be able to edit these articles too (anything with a grey padlock can be edited by you after just 10 edits and 4 days spent on the website). aaronneallucas (talk) 16:11, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Mkmtz We have a guide! You can check out the page Help:Your first article. It will help you decide first if your article is suitable for Wikipedia, then help you get started on writing. I would recommend trying a few other tasks first to get a feel for Wikipedia, as it is one of the harder tasks to undertake (but you do not have to). Question from Awards2026 (17:12, 18 December 2025)

I keep trying to edit a page and it will say "edits published" after I do so, the updated text is briefly visible, but when I refresh it again then all the text is reverted back to the original. How do I get my edits to stick? --Awards2026 (talk) 17:12, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Awards2026: Your edits aren't "sticking" because your edits are being reverted due to not complying with our WP:ELBODY guideline. We don't generally include external links into the body of an article. We aren't a link farm, and such links are inappropriate. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:22, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Ethel Mulvany (December 22)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Somepinkdude was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Ref #1 could indicate notability, but there is clearly no WP:3.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
Somepinkdude (talk) 00:06, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

So how do I make a longer Storyline that is about world Of Tanks game --Samuel Jackson Cox (talk) 16:10, 25 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Samuel Jackson Cox You can do this by editing the article and adding the content to the relevant section. It looks like that article is semi-protected at the moment due to persistent vandalism. Before you can edit the article, you'll need auto-confirmed status, which means you'll need to make 10 edits and have a 4-day old account. Temporary account IP viewer granted

The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, Aplucas0703. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:46, 27 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

On userscript content models

I've deleted User:Aplucas0703/LoverBubbles.js per your request. I assume you requested it be deleted because it doesn't work as a script. The reason for that is that, because you moved the page from a non-JS page to a JS page, it had the wrong content model. If you create the page directly at a JavaScript title rather than moving it then at least that hurdle will be cleared and the page will minimally load. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:40, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Pppery Thanks for taking the time to let me know! I figured it out and actually got it working, but I really appreciate that you would have taken the time to let me know! aaronneallucas (talk) 04:50, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Boito (company)

I see I'm on top of you in Boito (company). I'll bow out having requested copyright violation revdel to leave it to you. Let me know if you have questions! Dclemens1971 (talk) 16:07, 7 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Dclemens1971 I have less experience with copyright violations than other subjects, if everything is good on copyright, I'll move forward (and leave the current tag until fixed). It seems like we started simultaneously. aaronneallucas (talk) 16:09, 7 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, no worries. You should see a "copyvio check" button at the top, and this should be part of your new page review. Here's the Copyvio Detector report for Boito: https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&oldid=1316058427&action=compare&url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoors.nyc%2Fcollections%2Fboito. You can see one whole section was mostly lifted from another site (the red overlap). The copyright situation is as fine now as we can make it and an admin will come along later to revdel the offending versions. The whole article is promotional so should probably be stubified, although I think the company meets the notability guideline. Dclemens1971 (talk) 16:14, 7 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Dclemens1971 I agree. I cleaned up some promotional language on the article and think the company is notable. aaronneallucas (talk) 16:22, 7 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Loop zoop

Hello Aplucas0703. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Loop zoop, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: not recently created. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 04:04, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo here

Found unencyclopedic content in Louis IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt, i'm deleting it but for some reason in the AfD log it doesn't show what article I am talking about? Please help https://imgur.com/a/jVjSONO UltimateCyborg (talk) 18:29, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@UltimateCyborg You can re-edit your nomination (I went ahead and did this for you), but in general, it would probably be better to use some automated tools to help you with creating deletion nominations in the future (it will add the header to the article, add it to the AfD log, and let you add it to other deletion sorting categories). On your talk page I will leave a list of information and an intro to Wikipedia. Enabling Twinkle in your preferences would be helpful for this purpose and for many other tasks.
The article was already proposed for deletion (WP:PROD), so nominating for deletion at AfD at the same time as proposing deletion can be confusing, so in the future only do one or the other.
AfD can be confusing or difficult. Please let me now if you have any further questions here. I'm happy to assist. aaronneallucas (talk) 22:05, 9 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Anticipatory obedience for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Anticipatory obedience, to which you have significantly contributed, is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or if it should be deleted.

The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anticipatory obedience until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

To customise your preferences for automated AfD notifications for articles to which you've significantly contributed (or to opt-out entirely), please visit the configuration page. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:02, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from UltimateCyborg (20:32, 10 January 2026)

Hallo, how to get a Wikipedia admin to close AfD log pls? Looking back at it I can say my AfD complaint is trash garbage hellhole --UltimateCyborg (talk) 20:32, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@UltimateCyborg Reply to your request by voting as "withdrawn" and explaining why (though be kind to yourself since we were all new to AfD once). Don't fret making a "bad" nomination. We all make mistakes early on. Someone will close it shortly thereafter, as admins will peruse discussions regularly, as will other experienced editors who are not admins who may also choose to close a discussion early under the right circumstances. Withdrawing your nomination with no other objections will generally do it. aaronneallucas (talk) 21:01, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from KristofferElmqvistTranter (10:31, 13 January 2026)

Hi @Aplucas0703,

I made this account to try to update our company page because it is full with incorrect and outdated information. I believe in the Wikipedia mission which is why I'm being transparent with my COI, but I think we fill the notability requirements to motivate the referenced additions I have prepared, and I have done my best to honor my legacy journalistic integrity and stick to the Wikipedia tone of voice and neutrality in the text and its information. How do you recommend i proceed here?

Best regards, /K --KristofferElmqvistTranter (talk) 10:31, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@KristofferElmqvistTranter The best thing to do is to be transparent with the conflict of interest at the article you edit. You can do this by disclosing it on the talk page or in the edit summary (see WP:DISCLOSE for more information). Ensure that you are writing neutrally. Can I ask which company's page you will be updating? aaronneallucas (talk) 21:59, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
My plan is to make editing suggestions to the Swedish page for Tranter (Heat exchanger manufacturer) and then translate the page to English, since Tranter is an international company headquartered in USA today. @Lordin the Overlord As a mentor, I can answer questions or provide guidance. If you do not want a mentor, you may remove me as your mentor at your user homepage. aaronneallucas (talk) 22:39, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I can? Lordin the Overlord (talk) 23:02, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Lordin the Overlord Go to this page and navigate to the mentor section. There should be an option to un-enroll from the mentorship program. You can request a new mentor again at any time. If you don't want a mentor but still need some help, you can visit WP:Teahouse and experienced editors will help provide you with an answer. Otherwise, I'm here to help. aaronneallucas (talk) 23:58, 14 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I guess a mentor won't hurt. Lordin the Overlord (talk) 00:42, 15 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Lifeboat numbers - Donaghadee

Hi @Aplucas0703

Just to advise, lifeboat numbers have a hyphen, not endash. Its just that it presents as a range on wiki - which it isn't. Thanks for the update to Donaghadee, but I'll revert.
