Question on appeal
Hello Mitchell,
I was topic-banned about 8 months ago following my appeal of an indefinite wiki-wide ban for attempted canvassing. I would like to request that the committee re-evaluate the sanction.
I am not sure which avenue I should appeal through. Could you please point me in the right direction? NorthernWinds (talk) 09:32, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- @NorthernWinds you'd have to file an appeal at WP:ARCA, which would be heard by the full Arbitration Committee. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:22, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- I forgot to thank you - so thanks for the directions. I have filed an appeal.
- Best,

Probably time to revoke TPA - see what they've been up to lately: User_talk:Bobsmacarena and the History. Cheers! Geoff | Who, me? 22:09, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Glane23 I've revoked, but it's usually better to just leave them to it if it's just silly rather than abusive. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:24, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Carder is still cited as a source, so you shouldn't remove it from the list. I was just converting Collis to Harvnb to match the others when I e/c with your " get rid of sfn; causes more problems than it solves". DuncanHill (talk) 20:26, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- @DuncanHill I appreciate you trying to fix the errors but I'd intended to get rid of the sfn system anyway. It introduces overheads and adds no great value. Collis is a revised and updated edition of Carder, so I'm relying on the more up-to-date version. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:31, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- You shouldn't change the referencing method without consensus, WP:CITEVAR. "Editors should not attempt to change an article's established citation style, merely on the grounds of personal preference or to make it match other articles, without first seeking consensus for the change". And, "trying to fix" - I DID fix your error where you had removed a source in use. DuncanHill (talk) 20:36, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
