English: The Genius of Liberty, by Augustin Dumont (French, 1801–1884), topping the July Column at the Place de la Bastille in Paris. Gilt bronze, 1833. H. 4 m (13 ft. 1 ¼ in.). A bronze draft of the same work is also exhibited in the Louvre Museum (RF 680).
Français : Le Génie de la Liberté par Augustin Dumont (Français, 1801-1884), au sommet de la Colonne de Juillet sur la place de la Bastille (IVe arrondissement de Paris). Bronze doré, 1833. H. 4 m (13 ft. 1 ¼ in.). Un autre tirage en bronze est exposé au musée du Louvre (RF 680).
Deutsch: Le Génie de la Liberté (Geist der Freiheit). Skultur von Augustin Dumont (1801-1884), die auf der Spitzen der Julisäule in Paris steht. Vergoldete Bronzestatue mit einer Höhe von rund 4 m. Ein Entwurf dieser Statue steht im Louvremuseum.
