What is considered a reliable source? i thought the sites i referenced were secondary, and independents and some were directly from the record label? MusicGene (talk) 23:38, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:WikiProject Albums/Sources for a guide which certainly does not include all acceptable sources but gives an idea. YouTube is almost never a reliable source (see WP:RSPYT), Decca is a primary source so not useful for establishing notability and SDE has no evidence of editorial oversight or a history of fact-checking. Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by S0091 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Please take the time to read through all the above links. As noted before none of the sources are reliable which means they should not be used (remove them), this includes Buzz (no evidence of editorial oversight, etc.). Generally, for an album to meet the notability multiple in-depth reviews by reputable sources are needed. See WP:WikiProject Albums/Sources to get an idea of some acceptable sources.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

This looked fine, until I scrolled down to the references and saw the code error.

YouTube is almost never a reliable sources (see WP:RSPYT) nor are social media sites like Facebook, Instragram, etc. so please stop using them. Student newspapers cannot be used to establish notability (see WP:RSSM...audience is too local). S0091 (talk) 22:34, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They are used to show the event actually happening MusicGene (talk) 22:59, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If a source is not reliable it can't be used to support any anything. If a source is a primary source (i.e. the label, anyone affiliated, interviews) it can be used to support very basic facts, such as a release date but should only be used very sparingly and does not contribute to notability. Think of this way, if something is important/of note, reputable secondary sources with no affiliation will write about it own their own with no or little input from those involved. If multiple reliable, secondary sources that are independent have not written about a topic, then an article is not possible because largely what Wikipedia article should do is summarize those sources. S0091 (talk) 23:18, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
you mean like their target audience (College students) who write about the album in a college newspaper... MusicGene (talk) 23:28, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sources need to have wide audience beyond a local area. A student newspaper's audience is a college/university. S0091 (talk) 23:43, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also feel free to look at all the other NSP discography or 4(The Pink Album) by Lukas Graham who have only 3 cites, yet they are still on there... MusicGene (talk) 23:34, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not familiar, but looking at the sources it was ranked #56 on Germany's official national chart which is an indication of notability (see WP:CHART), similar to the Billboard top 100 but also see WP:OTHERSTUFF. The existence of one article has not bearing on another article (notability guidelines change over time, there are plenty of existing articles that do not meet today's guidelines, etc.). If any albums you have proposed has made it to the Billboard top 100, then that is an indication of notability. Do read WP:NALBUM. S0091 (talk) 23:57, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
