This article seems to largely cover the same ground as Annexation of Savoy, which already exists as an article. Is it possible for you to add the information from this draft into that article instead? Otherwise, maybe add to the talk page of this draft why you think it deserves a seperate stand alone article. Your submission at Articles for creation: Pauline Buisson (October 20)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Toadspike was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
There is no possible way a source from 1787 (ref 3) can cited for events "From 1787 onward". Ref 4, cited for two whole paragraphs, doesn't mention Pauline Buisson at all. Please rewrite this so that the sources cited verify the article prose.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Pauline Buisson (October 20)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Concern regarding your translations

Hi there. After reviewing Draft:Pauline Buisson, I had a look at your other articles and am concerned that many of them may have the same issues with sourcing. It looks like you are removing the existing citations from the dewiki articles you're translating, translating their text into English, and then tacking on new citations at the end of each paragraph. For instance, on Isaak Faesch you've removed or replaced many of the existing citations from de:Isaak Faesch and added new citations for the unsourced paragraphs, all without changing the underlying text. At best this is a case of writing the article WP:BACKWARDS, but in many cases your new citations don't seem to come close to verifying the text that you’ve translated from dewiki. For instance, as @Toadspike pointed out on Draft:Pauline Buisson, on some occasions you've used sources that were written before the events they're being cited for, or that don't mention the subject at all.

Can you talk me through your process for translating articles, and how you are ensuring that the new citations you’re adding verify the contents of the articles? Thank you. MCE89 (talk) 15:39, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, as for the referencing part I take referencing part from literature section as well, which is present in the original article as sometimes there are less relevant sources in the original article so for Isaak Faesch I took references from literature section as I thought that they might be reliable as they are present in literature section. But I think that this process is not working as the way I was thinking it to be. I would request you to guide me if this process is not reliable and I need to change it. Manvi1820 (talk) 15:48, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is not that the sources are unreliable, it's that you seem to be placing citations after random paragraphs completely unrelated to the cited source. An inline citation at the end of a sentence or paragraph should support all of the content since the previous inline citation or the start of the paragraph. Toadspike [Talk] 16:31, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, thankyou @Toadspike and @MCE89 for highlighting this issue regarding my articles. I will review all the articles which have this problem and correct them with the correct placing of the sources after the right paragraph. Manvi1820 (talk) 16:35, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@7804j, could you please take a look at this situation and Draft:Pauline Buisson? I really appreciate the work of OKA, but this is not a good look. I will be keeping an eye on things and I hope you can do the same. Toadspike [Talk] 16:37, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for flagging. I'll look into this 7804j (talk) 17:24, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Toadspike @MCE89 I wanted to share a quick update on this. We've looked into the situation and indeed this is absolutely unacceptable behavior by Manvi1820. We have immediately cancelled her OKA stipends, so she will no longer be working with us.
It is unfortunate that we only noticed this now, thanks again for bringing it to our attention! Usually, such quality issues would get detected much earlier (looking at the long history in the talk page, no similar issues were raised before, so this may have started recently). We suspect there could even have been some degree of intentional concealment here, or at least reckless negligence.
We will be reviewing her previously published articles to look for these issues, and fix these. This is definitely not even close to the standards that we expect from OKA contributors. 7804j (talk) 21:09, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for taking care of this. I am very happy with the OKA response here, it demonstrates a great deal of responsibility. Toadspike [Talk] 21:36, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Manvi1820. I noticed that you've since submitted Flood protection in Dresden, which has exactly these same issues. You've taken a dewiki page that has a large amount of unsourced content (de:Hochwasserschutz in Dresden), and added inline citations that support very little of the article's text. To give just one example, take these sentences:
Originally, the Weißeritz flowed into the Elbe near the city centre, separating Friedrichstadt from it. In 1893, it was rerouted westward through Cotta for flood protection, with the former riverbed repurposed for railway facilities, making the relocation permanent.
You've cited this Encyclopedia Britannica entry for these sentences, but I can't find anything in that source that's even remotely relevant to these claims. Verifiability means that the source you cite needs to clearly support the text of the article. That means that if you cite a source at the end of the paragraph, it should clearly include all of the information within that paragraph.
My general suggestion would be that it's probably best to stick to translating dewiki pages that are already reasonably well-cited. If a dewiki page that you translate has unsourced text or is poorly referenced, you need to find reliable sources and edit or rewrite the article to match those sources, rather than adding unrelated citations arbitrarily to the existing unsourced text. In the worst case, I would say it is much better to leave the text unreferenced, since that at least makes the issue apparent to other editors. MCE89 (talk) 06:44, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, the references used in the original article are not applicable as the links to the references are expired, for this reason I had to find the references which at least match something in this article otherwise the whole article will be left unsourced as finding exact match is very complicated as some of the links are already expired and I cannot add links which are not searchable or verifiable. Manvi1820 (talk) 06:59, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Citations do not just need to match something in the article, they need to actually verify the article's claims. When you add a citation, you are saying that if I read the cited source, it would confirm every claim made in the preceding sentence(s) of the article.
If the content on the dewiki pages you're translating is unsourced or the old citations are no longer usable, your options are:
  1. Leave the text unreferenced and tag it with a [citation needed] tag (not ideal, but preferable)
  2. Remove the text entirely
  3. Rewrite the text to match the contents of the new sources you're adding
But you cannot leave the text unchanged and add citations to sources that don't correspond to the text of the article.
As an side note, if some of the existing dewiki sources are now dead links, you can try searching the Internet Archive to see if the contents have been archived. Help:Using the Wayback Machine has some instructions for adding archive links to your citations that you might find helpful. MCE89 (talk) 07:11, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikishovel Since you've just accepted this draft, could you please take a look at the thread above and let us know if you checked for these issues? If not, could you please un-accept? This isn't an issue AfC/OKA drafts usually have, so no fault on you if you missed it. Toadspike [Talk] 07:34, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're right: I didn't review it carefully enough. I've moved the article back to draft. Thanks for the ping. Wikishovel (talk) 08:03, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Bingium (November 9)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ChrysGalley was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The article arrived for AFC with about a third of the text under multiple "citation needed" tags. This means that a lot of the article is not verified, and given the relatively high proportion, this sourcing needs to be worked on before being accepted. Some of it should not be too difficult, since the 1845 source already used appears to have text to help source the tribes and the early Roman location details in the first few pages.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
