Replace "fictional location" with "collaborative storytelling setting?"

"Fictional location" (in the SD, the disambiguation, and the introduction) describes The Backrooms -literally-, but doesn't really get at the essence of The Backrooms which is more about its abstract phenomenology. I'm not attached to the suggested re-phrasing of "collaborative storytelling," but I do think we should aim for something that addresses the phenomena because therein lies the notability of the topic. The BackroomsBackroomsBackrooms – There isn't any other article named "Backrooms", and WP:DEFINITE is quite clear. It is definitely the primary topic over the web series and film of the same name. The only reason to have the redirect is if the song or album is equally important, although for the album "Back Room" and "Backroom" could still be a redirect. RenameWP:DEFINITE says "Do not place definite or indefinite articles (the, a, and an) at the beginning of titles unless they are part of a proper name" so the question is whether the name of the backrooms is "Backrooms" or "The Backrooms". Sources cited in the article seem to be split between using "Backrooms" and "The Backrooms" as their name. I don't agree that WP:DEFINITE prohibits "The" in this situation. However I do agree with the renaming because short names are good, simple names are probably easier to link without piping, and there are plenty of precedents for "Backrooms" being used as their name. --Northernhenge (talk) 15:22, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Support: The article itself refers to the location as "the Backrooms". Also, defaulting to omitting "The" from titles is usually a good idea. (example being the header at the top of this page) Yerlo (talk) 19:24, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a fan of The Backrooms, I will tell you now that it is most commonly known as “The Backrooms” collectively and not just “Backrooms”. If you look around online you will see most references use “the” before it including the original 4chan post. There are some use cases such as Kane Parson’s web series where he just uses “Backrooms” but for the most part we refer to it as “The Backrooms”.
Why not just have a page that is “Backrooms” redirect to “The Backrooms”. That way anyone searching for the name without “the” will still be directed to the correct page. 2001:4479:5A03:3E00:34FF:8AC2:75CE:D8C0 (talk) 12:12, 3 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Because backroom (with or without a space and/or an s) is too similar to "back room", which has a number of meanings. That leads me to oppose the move as it makes it slightly clearer that this is a specific subculture use of the term, not a general reference to a backroom. --Northernhenge (talk) 23:10, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Add Backrooms Wallpaper info/finding details

I (RegularlyBlue on YouTube) was able to find an authentic roll of the Backrooms chevron/arrow wallpaper from the 90s, and I've made a full YouTube video describing its story and how I found it. Broogli (a popular Backrooms YouTuber) has also made a video on the topic. I think a nice little summary of the wallpaper's origins and how I found it would be a good addition to this page, especially considering how much of a staple the iconic wallpaper pattern is in the Backrooms fanbase. All necessary info is in mine and Broogli's video on the matter, or I can just provide info here. Thanks! RegularlyBlue (talk) 02:17, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I propose adding the following links to the "External Links" section:

Optionally, as sub-bullet to the Fandom link:

These are the links I can think of for now. If I think of more, I will create an additional post. Thank you for reading. TheDadams3 (talk) 23:54, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
