He is not a normal member of the competitive civil service, but rather hired directly into DOGE. DOGE is responsible for overseeing government efficiency projects on behalf of Elon Musk. These projects are highly controversial and notable in nature and include accessing taxpayer databases, government HR systems, the treasury payment system, etc. Few staffers have access to these things, and it is highly unprecedented for staff in one department to have access to all of this information government-wide. 212.58.120.8 (talk) 17:53, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
