Draft outline

There's a draft for an outline to the Art history subject found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Outlines/Drafts/Outline of art history. Please feel free to review and revise it. In particular, the list of scholars probably needs more eyes. There's also a RM proposal to move that to draftspace if people care. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 18:40, 22 June 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TravisNygard (talk • contribs) [reply]

Attribution

The term "attribution" does not appear in the lemma, although it is vital for many others on art, especially earlier works. The delicate term has to be adressed here, since for over a hundred years it determined the art of early art historians, the aquired Kennerschaft. Like so often the problem is the search, I get Attribution (copyright), certainly not exactly, what it is abou; then maybe Acknowledgment (creative arts and sciences)? No. As (part of) a special tool set it has to be mentioned here, and maybe also linked. MenkinAlRire 20:34, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Project : repairing and rewriting this page

There are multiple issues within this page and it needs quite a bit of work. As a student of Art History and with enough research, I feel as though I am able to at least help edit or change some sections of this page as quite a few of it feel like a personal essay. I have already patched up the introduction to the best of my ability. 32ozredbull (talk) 18:39, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I ended up making some pretty major changes to this page, there was a lot of unwarranted personal bias and essay like structure that was probably collected over the years, looks like its been an issue since at least 2021. My work on this page is probably not done here as I think I need to continue to add more to the overall timeline of the methodologies to keep it concise and important. An encyclopedia page on Art History should point out the essential historical trends. Some topics I removed should've been entire other pages. 32ozredbull (talk) 02:04, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
More and more changes have been made. Yet I am still kinda stuck on weather or not the timeline of methodologies section is an important enough topic to warrant a very long section with multiple topics. Perhaps a brief introduction into the history of "art history" and then another section about the practices of modern day art historians? Not sure. I'll come back to this issue. 32ozredbull (talk) 16:46, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am unsure if the sections on Carl Jung and Feminism need to exist within the timeline section. Perhaps a condensing of all of these sections to match a true "history of art history" section would be the ideal here. 32ozredbull (talk) 18:32, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
