The source for "The European Union holds the view that the plebiscite is not in Kashmiris' interest" under >Efforts to end the dispute >Contemporary views on UN resolutions is simply fake. It doesn't exist, it redirects you to a bitcoin page. It is reference 432. Check it out. Also the claim that kashmiris dont want plebiscite is BS, here is a Reuters poll saying otherwise :https://www.reuters.com/article/us-kashmir-poll-idUSDEL29179620070813 include this as the source for the true statement. 99.230.152.36 (talk) 08:38, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

Not done: article is correct as written. Opinion on independence depends on the region. The article says According to an opinion poll conducted by Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in 2007, 87% of people in mainly Muslim Srinagar want independence, whereas 95% of the people in the mainly Hindu Jammu city think the state should be part of India.[405] The Kashmir Valley is the only region of the former princely state where the majority of the population is unhappy with its current status. The Hindus of Jammu and Buddhists of Ladakh are content under Indian administration. Muslims of Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas are content under Pakistani administration. Kashmir Valley's Muslims want to change their national status to independence.[406]
Ref. 405 is the Reuters citation, and the text of the article is consistent with it. Xan747 (talk) 23:21, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Need additions about the most important factor
Incomplete information can be sentimentally harmful. You need to properly address about what was done to Kashmiri Pandits too. It was a major case of law which was barely handled by the then government."Scholars" and existent people can tell you about that too if there's no research available at hand. There should be no evidence of right or left wing when and if you're writing about such a topic on Wikipedia. You need to cover all evident cases of Kashmir conflict not just what seems right and fair to one's eye. 5.24.167.94 (talk) 00:52, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Inside Human Rights Abuses update the partly free of Indian Administered Kashmir to not free according to the latest Freedom House Report. Pakistan and India both are rated as "partly free" at the moment.

Partly done: I added information on the new ratings, but did not remove the old ones - it seems helpful to show the change over a relatively short period of time. Thanks for pointing this out. Jamedeus (talk) 09:27, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
- All right, thanks 4lways4ccelerate (talk) 15:55, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
Title Change from Kashmir Conflict To Jammu and Kashmir Conflict
I believe the Title should be “Jammu and Kashmir Conflict” instead of just “Kashmir Conflict” as it is more precise the article’s heading simply being “Kashmir Conflict” fails to represent the full political and historical reality of the dispute the Jammu region is also an integral part of the conflict as the Jammu region has seen multiple high casualty terror attacks like 2024 Reasi Pilgrim Bus Attack ,2023 Dhangri Village Massacre ,2016 Nagrota Army Camp Attack , 2006 Doda Massacre , 2013 Kathua Twin Attacks and 2004 Jammu Tawi Railway Station attack the region experienced massive upheaval and destruction during the 1947–1948, 1965, and 1971 wars, where key areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Rajouri, and Chhamb-Akhnoor became major battlegrounds, leading to significant displacement, loss of life, and the systematic destruction of villages and public places due to cross-border shelling and military operations. ~2025-40439-61 (talk) 16:01, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- The article isn't only about parts of "Kashmir" that are administered by India.
- Parts of Kashmir under the control of India. There are "Jammu and Kashmir" and "Ladakh".
- Parts of Kashmir under the control of Pakistan. There are "Azad Kashmir" and "Gilgit-Baltistan".
- Parts of Kashmir under the control of China. There are "Aksai Chin" and "Trans-Karakoram Tract".
- The situation of the region is complex. These words help us to distinguish the parts. You can use one of these terms without support any parties to "Kashmir conflict". Anatole-berthe (talk) 23:15, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
