Foundation stock moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Foundation stock, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Atsme 💬 📧 16:48, 6 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Montanabw,
I hope you are well these days. Draftification is only supposed to be used for recently created articles (3-6 months old) and this article is 14 years old so I have moved it back to main space. Of course, you are welcome to continue to improve it as, as you know, any article can be subject to an AFD deletion discussion. Thank you and happy autumn! Liz Read! FAC Mentor

Good day! I was wondering if you'd be willing and able to perhaps provide a bit of mentorship and guidance with my first FA nomination. Back when I put the Perry County, Tennessee article up for GA status, a reviewer suggested it was potentially nearing FA status. Comparing it to the only US county article with FA status (Warren County, Indiana), I feel like it's pretty much there. However, I've been working on evolving at this article for so long now that I might be looking at it through rose-colored glasses, and would appreciate any feedback or advice in getting it across the finish line. I've started off by submitting it for peer review, since the last review was done over a year ago for the GA nomination. Thanks! nf utvol (talk) nf utvol (talk) 15:31, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Flaxen and sooty article titles

Hi Montana, hope you're doing well.

I'm thinking of making another attempt to move the flaxen and sooty articles, as it's still bothering me that the titles are not technically correct. I was wondering if you had input about what they should be moved to? I'm thinking based on how other horse coat color articles are disambiguated, maybe Flaxen gene -> Flaxen horse (the first sentence could easily be changed to "A flaxen horse is one with...") and similarly Sooty (gene) -> Sooty horse.

I'm also happy to explain what exactly is not technically correct, if you would like.

Best, Iamnotabunny (talk) 22:59, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

Let’s discuss. There are no horses named “Flaxen,” for one thing…nor are they a breed. Chestnut (horse color) worked.Montanabw(talk) 04:10, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Nice to see action on your talk ;) - Gabriela Grillo died, - I plan to translate, could you please watch and correct where I don't know the language of the field? - I'm sad that the old discussions have not died out, see Rossini (birthday tomorrow) and Rinaldo (opera). I'm sadder that people die, subjects and in real life, promising project member Vami_IV, - that was a shock. - Today's story, however, celebrates a woman's birthday. She sat right in front of me when I took the picture at a lovely concert, celebrating her son's 60th. I thought she was 90 today, - no, 91 already. You can listen, starting at the piece he dedicated to her, Op. 1. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:58, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

more music and flowers on Rossini's rare birthday --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:35, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you

Thanks for taking a hard stab at Trait du Maine; it gave me the courage/confidence to go through the whole article and copy edit the poor translation.

There are many horse breed articles that have been translated (often quite poorly) from French wiki to English by a group of paid editors (OKA). According to their guidelines their organization wants them to translate large quantities without too much attention to quality (because some other wiki editor will come along and fix it). They use an auto-translation tool called Deepl, and they create articles directly without going through Articles for Creation process (they do a Draft, then move to mainspace).[1] They are supposed to read the auto-translation and make edits into good English, but I doubt a single one of them are native English speakers. I have been unable to guide or train any of these OKA editors to do a better job, so I gave up and resorted to simply tagging the articles for cleanup. If they were required to go through AFC, then their monstrosities could stay in Draft until they clean them up better. (That's a thought, I could just move them to Draft... but I suppose they'd just move them back to mainspace.)

I liked your machete approach. I had quit when I read "A prototype of perfection has been defined to characterize the ideal Trait du Maine"; you simply deleted it. Definitely a good start.

If I make a list of some of these affected horse breed articles, maybe we could do a "one-two punch" and get some of them cleaned up.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:18, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

AraAppaloosa

Found today. Last year, back in my days of "if it ain't a true breed, WTF do we have it in Wikipedia", I recommended merging AraAppaloosa. Months later, someone did a merge of sorts, which was half-baked, [2] but I didn't double-check their work back then. I did today. Awful.

Since you were the primary editor of record in the last version of AraAppaloosa, I thought I'd point it out, bow my head in shame that I didn't catch the half-merge earlier, and let you decide if the article should be re-established or if all of the original content should be pasted into the target article (not just one paragraph).

Articles affected: AraAppaloosa (original content), Appaloosa Horse Club (merge target), Araloosa (a redirect used only in Part-Arabian).   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 15:55, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

I wasn't notified at the time, so we will have to agree to disagree. I removed the merged material from Appaloosa Horse Club because it didn't fit, and restored the article. We can chat further, but this particular mix is one of dozens of designer crossbreds out there, most of which at similar levels also have articles. Montanabw(talk) 18:26, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
