Optional parameters
- class – see the quality scale
- ibox – the
|ibox=parameter should be set toyes,naorneeds. Set|ibox=yesif this article has an infobox; set|ibox=naif this article does not require an infobox; set|ibox=needsif this article needs to have an infobox added.- When
|ibox=needsis set, this places the page in Category:Bristol articles needing an infobox.

- importance – see the importance scale
- listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Isambard Kingdom Brunel,
|listas=Brunel, Isambard Kingdom, so that the talk page will show up in the B's and not the I's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. It is not required if an earlier WikiProject template on the same page has its own|listas=set. - map – the
|map=parameter should be set toyes,naorneeds. Set|map=yesif this article has a map; set|map=naif this article does not require a map; set|map=needsif this article needs a map.- When
|map=needsis set, this places the page in Category:Bristol articles needing maps.
- When
- photo – the
|photo=parameter should be set toyes,naorneeds. Set|photo=yesif at least one photograph is included in this article; set|photo=naif this article does not require a photograph; set|photo=needsif this article needs at least one photograph to be added.- When
|photo=needsis set, this places the page in Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Bristol.
