Help

Hey @Gonnym:, thanks so much for helping with this. I just had some specific questions and places for improvement that I was hoping for help with.

First, is there anywhere I should reach out to people to get help? I already did here, here, and here but if there's anywhere else I should post let me know.

The biggest point I was hoping for help on was the plot sections. I don't really know how to write them and what is or isn't worth mentioning. For now I've copied it directly off of the plot summaries on the list of episodes page but every episode article I've ever seen includes a much more detailed plot summary. Do you mind taking a stab at writing it?

There are a couple other things but let's start there. Ladtrack (talk) 18:28, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You could also try at WP:WikiProject Television. I'm not good at plot, sorry. However, do take into account that because you merged quite a few episodes into one article, you are still limited by MOS:TVPLOT to the size of the plot. You might be able to increase it a bit, but not to the size of the number of episodes of the arc. Gonnym (talk) 08:24, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I didn't realize about that restriction, I'll pay attention to that. If you don't mind, would you look over some of the other sections and help me get them to Wikipedia standard quality? I'm really sorry about this, I know I'm asking a lot from you but this is my first article and you're the only person who came in to help so I don't really know what else to do. FYI I am watching this page and may help out at some point, but my focus is on some other articles at the moment. - adamstom97 (talk) 10:14, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you were the one who initially removed the articles about the other episodes. I agree with that decision but I tried to source this thoroughly and I do think this passes WP:GNG, unlike those episodes. I understand that is going to be a concern especially with so few articles on animated Star Wars episodes but I feel that considering what it is it should qualify for an article. Whenever you get the chance please look through it and let me know what you think. Ladtrack (talk) 07:17, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this one is actually on its way to being mainspace-worthy, unlike the previous episode articles for this show. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:31, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ladtrack: see Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series finale for an example of a multi-episode article with an infobox. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:17, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'll work on that and see if I can mock up an infobox. In the meantime, is there anything else you think needs attention? Aside from the infobox I am feeling pretty good about it at present but of course, I don't know what I don't know, so if there are major issues I wouldn't be aware of them. I want to get as good a draft as I can before I send it for review. Ladtrack (talk) 23:04, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is good enough to move to the mainspace and continue work there, it meets the standards we expect for an episode article to go live. I can make the move for you if you want. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:24, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, sorry to bother you again, but do you think you could upload an image to put into the infobox? I don't know the procedure, especially with free use issues. I was thinking something like this unless you have an idea for something better. Ladtrack (talk) 17:04, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We generally shouldn't use screenshots from the show unless there is no other alternative and there is a good reason for why someone would need to see that image to understand what the article is talking about. A poster would be preferred. impawards has a few official posters from the final season, this one for episode 9 doesn't state the episode number on it so that could work best since we are covering multiple episodes in this article. I can upload it for the infobox. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:08, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have added it now. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:14, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are you certain these are official? They're not particularly well-made and I couldn't find any source of Lucasfilm or any other Disney-related outlet releasing them. And while this isn't really proof, I don't think I ran across any of these posters except for the season seven poster even once while I was looking for sources for the article, either officially or in secondary sources about the episodes, which means if it is official then at the very least it's remarkably obscure. If there must be a poster I'd rather have this one. It's not technically on this arc specifically but at least it's undoubtedly official and actually in widespread use. Also, it looks good. Ladtrack (talk) 23:40, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That poster is specifically for the final season as a whole and is tied to its announcement. These posters are specifically for these episodes so they are better, even if you personally don't think they are well made. I have not seen unofficial posters on impawards and these ones have Lucasfilm copyrights on them. They also look like the sort of episode posters that Disney has made for other series, which do tend to vary in quality. - adamstom97 (talk) 00:25, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So I used Google Images, and after a few minutes of searching, I found it posted by the official Star Wars Twitter account. I think that's a better source than IMP Awards. Lililolol (talk) 02:53, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I also found episodes 10 and 11 , which look better imo, and ep 12 the final one isn't from the official account, but it is from the show's official account, which appears to be verified as linked to the official Star Wars account. Lililolol (talk) 03:19, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Huh, I guess they are real then. If we must have one of these, is there any chance we can use the Phantom Apprentice one and just say it's from The Phantom Apprentice? At least in my opinion, it looks by far the best of the four in terms of composition and lighting, and there's no explosion effects with characters poorly placed in front, which is nice. Plus it's not actually any less representative than the other one, that one just so happens to not say "Old Friends Not Forgotten" on top. It doesn't actually meaningfully represent the other episodes any more than the other posters do, and anyone that has seen the arc will be able to tell immediately regardless of what we claim the poster to be. Ladtrack (talk) 05:23, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I personally think it is better to use the poster that doesn't explicitly refer to any one of the episodes, but I'm happy for any of these episode posters to be used since they all apply to this article. - adamstom97 (talk) 07:49, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Lililolol I suppose that makes you the tiebreaker. What do you think, nine or ten? Ladtrack (talk) 16:04, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ten definitely looks better Lililolol (talk) 17:26, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have made this change. - adamstom97 (talk) 17:41, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
