Project updates and fixes (August 1 – October 24, 2025)

Here's the latest updates and fixes for WikiProject Kentucky, which were mostly done in August and early September:

  • I found a trove of biography articles for people from Kentucky and added them to the project. These additions are what mostly pushed us to surpass 15,000 articles a month ago.
  • The front page underwent some redevelopment:
  • The OldIssues report underwent a major redesign: 1) Now fully automated; no more manual intervention needed as it a) automatically subtracts year listings when all the issues for a year are fixed, and b) automatically adds year listings as new "old" years occur (each New Year's Day); 2) Dramatically reduces database queries; therefore report generation is much more efficient; 3) Removes false positives (which were few, but we still don't want any).
  • On the "Assessments" page, added project stats to the lead and "Index · Statistics · Log" links to the top right above the assessments table, among other cleanups.
  • Created a new project category to collect our project's various reports.
  • Made a couple template-space templates using internal project code, so as to enhance code efficiencies in the project.
  • Did quite a bit of other minor fixes and cleanups around the project.

Enjoy. Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas for other improvements. Stefen 𝕋ower's got the power!!1! Gab • Gruntwerk 06:43, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Kentucky gubernatorial election voting data by county

Hello, WikiProject Kentucky. I recently compiled an exhaustive list of Wikipedia pages pertaining to United States gubernatorial elections which need tables detailing general election voting statistics by county. If anyone wants to help out with this task of adding stat tables, I'd gladly welcome the assistance. Here is the Kentucky list, and all 49 other states have their own likewise lists on that page. Thank you. Mungo Kitsch (talk) 09:08, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
