Administrators' newsletter – March 2025
News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2025).

- A request for comment is open to discuss whether AI-generated images (meaning those wholly created by generative AI, not human-created images modified with AI tools) should be banned from use in articles.
- A series of 22 mini-RFCs that double-checked consensus on some aspects and improved certain parts of the administrator elections process has been closed (see the summary of the changes).
- A request for comment is open to gain consensus on whether future administrator elections should be held.
- A new filter has been added to the Special:Nuke tool, which allows administrators to filter for pages in a range of page sizes (in bytes). This allows, for example, deleting pages only of a certain size or below. T378488

The article Ruis, Switzerland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unsourced for 12 years. Article subject ceased existing in 2015. Unlikely that new sources that meet WP:GNG will be made.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Freedom of speech in Thailand

A tag has been placed on Category:Freedom of speech in Thailand indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 22:18, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Mentorship
Hi The_Anome,
A user recently asked me a question on my talk page regarding One Morning in May (folk song), specifically referencing James Taylor’s version from the album One Man Dog. Since I’m not sure how to handle these kinds of song-related queries — whether it’s appropriate to cite such versions, mention them in the article, or redirect the user elsewhere — I wanted to ask for your advice.
Since you're an experienced editor, I was wondering how you'd approach this kind of query. Is it appropriate to respond with sourcing advice, or should I redirect the user elsewhere? —— 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 10:48, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

- This is a special case; not only is it in the news, but it's guaranteed to become of lasting notability. As a bill that has passed parliamentary scrutiny, it will now become law, probably within days. When that happens, it will only need an article rename and a few words changed to become an article about the Act. Also note that now the bill has been passed by Parliament, its wording cannot change in the slightest, except through legislation, so any content about the bill is guaranteed to be in the Act. — The Anome (talk) 20:49, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
