Corrected and updated recent films info. There are also 1 or 2 new projects, at least 1 of which is in post-production, but I'll leave that for somebody else for now. They are listed on Furlong's IMDB & pics from one of them are on his Instagram. There is also at least 1 project listed on his IMDB that seems to have stalled or died. It has been pending for several years now.
Family info: Step-father & younger maternal half brother are both mentioned all the way back in the August 1991 People Magazine article already listed in cites, then repeated in some later articles. I left out the sibling's name to avoid BLP & NN arguments.
'Furlong' as Eleanor's step-father's family name is mentioned in a few places, including at least 1 Youtube interview by Furlong from 2024. It is also kind of obvious to anyone paying attention to the names of family members, viz. Eleanor's half-brother on her mother's side, Sean Furlong.

Here is the YouTube interview where he mentions the origin of his surname. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02_iC6bg9h8
I think this is the right one, out of all those he has done in the last few years. If not, let me know & I will dig further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.97.154.59 (talk) 20:45, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry but No Youtube cannot be used as a source as Youtube is unreliable to be used as a source per WP:RSPYT. Untamed1910 (talk) 23:37, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- From the cited WP page:
- Most videos on YouTube are anonymous, self-published, and unverifiable, and should not be used as a reference. Content uploaded from a verified official account, such as that of a news organization, may be treated as originating from the uploader and therefore inheriting their level of reliability. However, many YouTube videos from unofficial accounts are copyright violations and should not be linked from Wikipedia, according to WP:COPYLINK. See also WP:YOUTUBE and WP:VIDEOLINK. For illustrative, non-referential use, see c:Commons:YouTube files and Wikipedia:Image use policy.
- The Youtube link in question is to an interview of Furlong by a professional interviewer who produces podcast/interviews with notable actors. The interviewer is in fact Michael Biehn and his accounts connected to the interview are verified in multiple ways. You can find all this on the YouTube account's userpage there https://www.youtube.com/@JustFoolinAbout . Also Biehn is clearly seen on camera conducting the interview with Furlong, who is also clearly seen on-camera. The interview is long-format and it is an interview with Furlong himself, not some 3rd party gossip. There is also a transcript of the interview. So the YouTube interview in question is not 'anonymous' or 'unverifiable' and it is not 'self-published' by Furlong. It is from a verified official account of the interviewer who operates this account as a professional podcast/interview program, which reasonably qualifies as journalism, and it is clearly not a copyright violation. I also note that the cited WP article is neither policy nor a guideline, only an information page. 172.97.154.59 (talk) 00:40, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Also, to be clear, do you object to any of the other edits I have made on this article (which are either sourced as stated or simply corrections, writing and clarity fixes) or just to the inclusion of the Youtube link as a reference? 172.97.154.59 (talk) 01:11, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- The YouTube sourcing you supplied is poor quality. You have been adding trivial detail such as the unimportant step-father Moises Torres. You listed the film Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep as "Lovecraftian" without a citation to support the description. You have also been using multiple IPs from Toronto including Special:Contributions/172.97.186.44, Special:Contributions/172.97.171.7 and Special:Contributions/172.97.193.180.
- Because of this history you have built, every sentence you add should be followed by a citation directly supporting it. Binksternet (talk) 23:41, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, multiple issues here.
- On what basis do you object to my use of different IP addresses? Especially as the address changes have been months apart. My periods of editing on Wikipedia from these different IP addresses have also been months apart, and I have gone out of my way to make it clear that I am the same person making these edits. I move around, and so does the internet address I happen to be using. This is the first time that I have returned to edit this article, or any Wikipedia article, since your previous sloppy revert of my and other people's work on this article was definitively reversed last October (2024). I just came back to check the state of the article and decided to add some more work. Please cite whatever WP you feel supports your objecting to my work on the basis of my IP address changing.
- As for your 'this history you have built' comment, the only "history" I have built here is of contributing to this article with informative content, improved clarity and copyedits for typos, grammar and writing quality. And of pointing out your own questionable "history" of repeated sloppy careless reverts of multiple other editor's work on this page and elsewhere.
- Your claim that the facts that the subject had a stepfather and has a younger maternal half brother, and that the parents he grew up with divorced during his childhood, are 'unimportant' and 'trivial' to the subject's Early life biography section seem unsupportable prima facie. Especially when, as stated above, these facts are all in the People Magazine article from August 1991, which has been used as a reference on this article almost as long as the article has existed. They are also repeated variously, elsewhere in articles about the subject. If you really want to defend your claims that this material is unimportant to Furlong's biography, please explain your arguments better?
- The information about Furlong's 2020's films is already in the existing cited references for those projects, in the Wikipedia articles for the films or it is on the IMDB pages for the movies in question. If you go & check the references, you will see that.
- It is also pretty clear that you did not actually watch the YouTube interview in question before opining on it.
- Since you insist on doing this again, I will again point out your own track record of questionable and hasty reverts, both here and elsewhere. In fact, in your latest revert on this article you have reverted the name of one of Furlong's films to a title that is both incorrect and out of date. It appears that yet again you did not actually read and check the material before reverting it, nor did you go back & make any corrections after reverting. Which was my original complaint about your actions, as sloppy and careless editing, in our previous dispute over this article.

- It is also worth pointing out that Beyond the Wall of Sleep is literally the title of an H.P. Lovecraft story and that this information about the authorship is right in the header of the IMDB page for the movie, and that the creator of the movie, Chad Ferrin, has a history of "Lovecraftian" work https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30061012 & https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0274842/. 5 seconds worth of effort on your part would have confirmed this description of the movie in question as "Lovecraftian". 172.97.154.59 (talk) 00:04, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello, me again. Same me, new IP address. It's been 2 weeks (16 days actually) & nobody has responded on the talk page, so I am going to assume the objections that were raised have been addressed? Proceeding with the changes discussed, based on info in cited references. Feel free to respond here, if you have any further concerns. 172.97.152.231 (talk) 05:02, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
Restored the updated & corrected filmography/work info. Restored most of the early life info, as per the cited sources, except the line about the origins of 'Furlong' as his surname. I am willing to wait with that info until we have agreed on sourcing, even though it is easily verifiable. 172.97.152.231 (talk) 05:18, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- I added a cite for him dating Natasha Lyonne. Binksternet (talk) 06:05, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- We should at least mention his teen idol/former teen idol status somewhere in the article. He was huge mid 1990's, especially in North American & Japan. There were several years when he was always on the cover of the teen-fan mags. Can we agree on some wording for this aspect of his career? 172.97.152.231 (talk) 07:19, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Added the teen idol information, since nobody has objected in 4 months. Minor changes in other text; mainly I re-arranged one paragraph for better chronological order. For whatever reason, the original author/s had the movies listed from newest to oldest, which did not really make sense. 172.97.204.241 (talk) 13:15, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, I think I'm done for now. I'll come back in a few months & add to his discography, if no one objects by then. 172.97.204.212 (talk) 01:32, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

Came back to revert a slightly pointy & inaccurate, less-clear reword. Made a few copyedits for style & better explanation. Removed the end-date for his relationship with Keena. They are still together, & have been on & off over the time-period. Both of them post & cross-post about their relationship with each other on their Instagram accounts from time-to-time; mostly as "story" items which disappear after 24 hours. They have also turned up together in the tabloids occasionally, much more recently than 2013.172.97.197.255 (talk) 03:29, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
New Eddie Pics on Commons
Someone recently photo-dumped a whole lot of recent pics of EF into his category at Commons; it looks like they were taken by the author at one or two convention events Furlong attended last year.
Someone more ambitious than me should go through them all & see if any are worth adding to the article; possibly as an updated lead pic?172.97.197.255 (talk) 03:35, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

I do not know how to do tables & I am not dealing with it right now. I've had enough for this visit, maybe I'll check in around his birthday or something. If someone else wants to add it in to the article with or without a table-section, or just add it to the references, go for it. Now I'm done. 172.97.197.255 (talk) 07:10, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
