At present, there are several end-of-service options available in this template:

• retiredate - the date the locomotive was retired from regular service
• withdrawndate - Commonwealth English equivalent of retiredate above
• restoredate - the date the locomotive was restored to operating condition
• scrapdate - the date the locomotive(s) was scrapped.

I would like to see provision for a further factor: condemneddate – the date the locomotive was officially condemned. It was common practice in Australia to record this accounting action (taking the loco "off the books" in effect) and not the dates on which they were withdrawn or scrapped. My request: Please add a new parameter called 'traction' (in Wikicode), displayed as 'Traction system' in the infoboxes.

Explanation/motivation: This parameter displays what power electronics are used to control the traction motors: for example, using resistors, a DC chopper or an inverter (such as IGBT-VVVF or GTO-VVVF). The traction system is the heart of any (diesel)electric locomotive and should therefore be added to the template.

Examples can be found on the following pages, where the same parameter is already being used in Template:train:
ICE 1, ICE 3, NS VIRM, BLS RABe 525, NS ICMm, HKL Class M100.
