  • ... that there's a town in Poland which has disappeared?

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes - Offline/paywalled citation accepted in good faith
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - AGF on the hook citations due to the fact that I don't speak Polish. ALT2 is ineligible due to the fact that it doesn't appear in the article (and also is somewhat contradicted by the map showing its location in the article). I'm not sure ALT1 is totally factual, is it really correct to say that a town that became a suburb of another was absorbed by it?
QPQ: None required.
Overall: Pass ALT0 only, other two hooks are ineligible for reasons described above. ALT0 probably also needs a minor reword, may I propose ALT0a: "... that a medieval town in Poland disappeared?". Although this isn't strictly a requirement, some copyediting to clean up awkward grammar/phrasing in the article before it appears on the front page would probably be nice. Thank you for this well researched article! 🌸wasianpower🌸 (talk • contribs) 03:04, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do not yet think that this article has all the qualities required to become a GA. I've put this nomination on hold until the charters is added.

This article is 1. well-written, 3. broad in its coverage, 4. neutral, 5. stable, and 6. well illustrated (adding a modern picture of the town may be useful, but is not necessary.)

It does have some issues with: 2. Verifiability. The main source is a document put together by the scholar trying to restore city rights for Brzostek, however Stanaszek seems to have been thoughtful in his research and the author of this article found some of the original documents he mentioned. Since the major source of the town's existence are the two charters, could you include a link to them directly as opposed to point to Stanaszka's book?

@AmazingAce123: Hi! Thanks for taking up the review. The link to Mały Brzostek's charter (in Latin) is already in the article, taken from 19th-century Kodeks dyplomatyczny klasztoru tynieckiego. I can also include the link to monastic Brzostek's charter, however it doesn't mention Mały Brzostek in any way, since it's a bit older and I just didn't consider its content to be relevant here.
As for Stanaszek, he's a Polish professor and a professional researcher. Writing articles on pl-wiki, I have been working with his books quite a while and they meet a fairly high standard, with sources listed. Sadly, since this topic is quite niche, he's often the first and only scholar writing on the subject. Filipny (talk) 09:05, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Completely missed the wikisource box - added it as an inline citation. Looks good to go, I'll add the GA - well done! AmazingAce123 (talk) 16:41, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. Cheers, Filipny (talk) 17:04, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
