A duplicate of this article at Queen Mother Sêmévo 1st has now been converted to a redirect, following a discussion today at WP:Teahouse#Help with deleting articles. I am not convinced that the article meets notability guidelines and there are other issues (see tags). However, there are at least two other sources that are somewhat independent and have not been included. See this from 2024 and this from 2017. Thank you for these links Mike Turnbull. I am not the original author but am new to Wikipedia and motivated to try and work on this. Given that this biography is of a (non-sovereign) monarch representing the Republic of Benin, I would have thought this would meet the notability criteria...is that a wrong assumption? I understand your assumption around notability. While this article probably does meet the standard of the topic being about a topic "worthy of notice", Mike was referring to it not meeting the basic criteria for notability for an article about a person. I could not find any sources referencing this project and Dòwòti Désir together - many sources regarding the project itself were dead links, and I don't know if the project itself is still ongoing or if it was ever published anywhere - a linked article contains a statement that the group's findings would be published in 2021, but I could not find them. I could also not find anything to verify Désir's level of participation in the project, or if she was a focus/participant at all. At minimum, I'd suggest it should be renamed to 'as a focus/subject of research' or something along those lines, as right now in my opinion the presence of that section implies it is research that Désir herself is carrying out, and that doesn't appear to be the case. I agree. Queen Mother Sêmévo I and Dòwòti Désir do not appear with the authors' names online. This section appears to conflate research into female traditional leaders generally with research into Désir specifically. Perhaps @Iambl can clarify Désir's involvement in this project, and if it came to fruition? In the meantime, I agree that it is framed inappropriately, and contains unnecessary detail that is not even claiming to be related to Désir. I propose removing the section and adding something like this to the Advocacy and career section:

Désir is one of several female traditional African leaders studied in a University of Ghana project, "Women and Political Participation in Africa: A Comparative Study of Representations and Roles of Female Chiefs". Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the British Academy, the lead researchers of this project are Peace A. Medie, Adriana A. E Biney, Amanda Coffie and Cori Wielenga. Yes, I agree with you, Deadsearisen. I also could not locate anything firm that links Madame Dòwòti Désir directly to this project—not as a lead researcher, nor as an author or organizer. Even the sources that once spoke about the initiative are now mostly broken. I searched, but there is nothing recent to confirm if this project is still breathing, or if it ever fully came to life as was once promised. I would also support changing the title of the section, maybe to “As subject of study” or something similar, so it does not mislead the reader. I'm of the opinion that this article's subject isn't notable enough to be worth a page. I tried looking up information about her. In my efforts to look up better sources about the subject, all I found were websites with similar visual design and information which lead me to suspect that they're owned by the same person or group. there doesn't seem to be a lot of independent information about her out in the world besides that, and what there is is likely either based on stuff from this page or taken from those websites. if it came to a vote, I would say this page should be deleted.
