Hello! I'm absolutely new here. I expect my contributions to be limited and focused. I've made one edit (before I set up an account) in which I added parents to my uncle's page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradford_Lyttle). I am active in genealogy (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lyttle-395), and I anticipate that any activity I will have on Wikipedia will stem from that interest. - There are several different citation templates that editors can choose from; the list here.
- For information regarding citing sources in general, see here.
- Never use self-published sources, e.g., FamilySearch; more about that here.
- The article you mentioned, Bradford Lyttle, is a living person, so here is the policy and other information regarding biographies of living people.
- Looking closely at the reference which added parents to BL's article, I do not see where it indicates that those people are his parents. Adding information that you know but without including a reliable source to verify it is considered to be "original research", which is prohibited; more about that here. Perhaps there's an interview someplace which states that those people are his parents; I would add that reference and remove the FamilySearch one.
- Editing articles about our relatives (unless they are dead) denotes a perceived conflict of interest, so it's best to avoid doing so, but it you do so, the editor must declare the conflict of interest; more info here.
- Lastly, I left a welcome message on your talkpage with information for new editors which should help you get started.

- Thank you so much for your response. I am very much aware of the conflict of interest issue, which is why I attempted to limit myself to some very concrete facts. I'm embarrassed that I did not check the link more closely once it was inserted in the biography. I made the mistake of relying on a WikiTree citation building macro. FamilySearch has both user created family trees and document images. What I was attempting to cite is an image of his birth certificate, which is about as authoritative a source as one can ask for. I could cite the certificate directly, but then there would be no link to an online copy. I will see what I can do to fix this and make it conform in style to the other citations. - Regarding hiring an editor. I don't edit for pay — ever. If anyone takes you up on the offer, you and they should be aware of the following policies regarding paid-contribution disclosure and conflict of interest.
- Regarding the page you started: Draft:Ralph D. Pittle... Based on your username (Rdp51), I'll make the assumption that you are Ralph D. Pittle. If that is the case, here are some policies you need to abide by: conflict of interest and autobiography. Whether you are or aren't Mr. Pittle, you should be aware of the following: biographies of living people policy, notability policy and the requirement to include reliable sources that are verifiable.

Hey again. I'm currently editing this page and I think there's a formatting error. In the first part (the introduction) it is stated where the singer was born and when they started singing. This is then ( almost verbatim) repeated in the 'Early Life' section. - All general sanctions imposed by the community may now be enforced at the Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard (WP:AE) as a result of a recent RfC.
- Due to the result of a recent RFC, the administrator recall process is amended to extend the deadline for a re-request for adminship to 30 days or the next administrator election, whichever is later.
- Changes to the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy's disclosure rules include broadening the consecutive-blocks exception to cover all admin actions and removing the requirement to revision-delete permissible disclosures once they become unnecessary (instead requiring only their removal). See WP:TAIVDISCLOSE for more information.
- Following the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been elected to the Arbitration Committee: Aoidh, Asilvering, Girth Summit, Guerillero, HJ Mitchell, HouseBlaster, Izno, Sdrqaz, SilverLocust.
- The arbitration case Pbsouthwood has been suspended.
