Is Iran International a credible source?
I noticed that the TV channel Iran International is used as a source several times in the article. I do not think this channel is an objective source, as it seems to be funded by Saudi Arabia for the specific purpose of bringing down the Iranian government.
From the Wiki:
According to Middle East Eye, Iran International is a media platform for the Iranian opposition. Kourosh Ziabari of Al-Monitor wrote it "does not shy away from presenting itself as an opposition media organization" and frequently gives the microphone to guests who criticize the Iranian government. The channel has been referred to as an "Iranian exile news outlet" by Borzou Daragahi of The Independent. The channel is known for raising the profile of Reza Pahlavi, the last heir apparent to the former Iranian throne, by constant coverage and repeatedly interviewing him. It also airs coverage of People's Mujahedin of Iran (MEK), including live broadcast of their rallies. 2A02:AA7:4643:7FE5:D504:986B:8CA6:F852 (talk) 20:00, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- i think you should bring this to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard Shadow4dark (talk) 21:10, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sources aren't unreliable just because they have a bias and having a bias against the oppressive Iranian government I'd suggest would be a good bias to have. TarnishedPathtalk 01:12, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think the scans are genuine. Whether Iran International fabricated them, or whether they were sent fake scans or scans of someone else by someone purporting to have sourced the scans from a hospital employee, who knows. They claim in this article (https://www.iranintl.com/en/202209195410) that they got them from 'hacktivist group vividly'. Iran has many resourceful enemies, including Israel, and the US. I saw the CCTV footage of her (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88yNDA7rh6E) standing and talking just fine to the morality educators before she collapsed. It's not at all plausible that she would have been able to stand and talk if she had medical scans that look like she was riding a motorbike without a helmet and ended up impaled on a metal bar. The whole article needs a rewrite, starting with the unfounded assertion that she died under 'suspicious' circumstances. MathewMunro (talk) 01:25, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- MathewMunro: Addressing your claim "the unfounded assertion that she died under 'suspicious' circumstances": this is not unfounded but sourced in the body of the text. Link 142 leads to Al Jazeera citing Amnesty: "Reacting to the incident, human rights organisation Amnesty International said, “The circumstances leading to the suspicious death in custody of 22-year-old young woman Mahsa Amini, which include allegations of torture and other ill-treatment in custody, must be criminally investigated.”" Lova Falk (talk) 12:31, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- I've read the links and their source was scans provided by a hacktivist group. There was no evidence that the scans were from her, and frankly, that should be pretty damned obvious just from looking at the YouTube video I posted above of her walking into the detention/moral-education facility and talking with the morality-educators, showing no signs of even a significant head injury, let alone the massive skull penetration shown in the scans. It is debunked rabble-rousing propaganda, which was undoubtedly primarily intended to weaken Iran's economy to hurt its defence industry, so that Israel would suffer less retaliation when they later bombed it. - Propoganda from Chinese state media is your idea of a reliable source? TarnishedPathtalk 07:58, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- What TarnishedPath said. Lova Falk (talk) 08:54, 25 October 2025 (UTC)

Present Tense Paragraph
In the section entitled 'anniversaries and subsequent reactions', sub section '2024 anniversary', it is written in present tense, as if it is happening right now. Can someone please change it to past tense? ~OneRandomBrit | User Page | Talk 12:43, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
Done and added some text to that section. Lova Falk (talk) 17:03, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
Requested grammar fix
"This has prompted the Guidance Patrol, Iran's morality police, to launch intermittent campaigns to verbally admonish or violently arrest and "re-educate" women they considered to be wearing the hijab incorrectly."
The tense is inconsistent. Either "this prompted ... they considered", or "this has prompted ... they have considered". ~2026-65862 (talk) 09:25, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hmmm. I frankly don't think that you are correct on this one. Lova Falk (talk) 16:33, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
Citations needed: Opposition to hijab
The section in this article ‘Opposition to hijab’ is full of assertions and almost entirely uncited. ~2026-21708-9 (talk) 10:51, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
