Hello, I believe there is a paragraph that is badly written or cited, but I'm not sure what to do

This is the change https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Robber_baron_%28industrialist%29&diff=prev&oldid=1097480060 from the authors talk page, a message on another edit suggest to me this might be copyright violation. I'm definitely not the best person to be an editor, but maybe I can point out what doesn't seem right and ask.

I'm not sure, but the paragraph that starts with "in contrast" (below) seems to be all from the same source but it's not quoted or cited except at the very end of the paragraph.I don't know if indention and/or italics or what can help make it more clear but as I was reading it, I wasn't clear that the whole paragraph is from the same source, and seems to be verbatim from the source, except for the first sentence. It's a highly polarized source, which I think is okay from the In contrast part, but I still feel that it's hard to tell that the next two sentences seem to be quotes/(copy/pasted directly from the source referenced in the last sentence.

"In contrast, Burton Folsom argues that the robber barons were either political entrepreneurs (who lobby government for subsidies and monopoly rights), or market entrepreneurs (who innovate and reduce costs to provide the best good or service at the lowest price). Political entrepreneurs do long-term harm to the economy with their monopolies and subsidies. This provides politicians with a pretext to insist that increased planning and increased regulation is the appropriate remedy.[1]" Smeg it (talk) 17:23, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sincere apologies for the late response. I agree this isn’t a great paragraph. It seems to make claims in wikivoice which are the opinions of the source. I cannot tell if it is a copyvio, but I think the best treatment for now would be to remove the second and third sentences, which I will go ahead and do now. Question from Communism is cringe (19:54, 24 November 2024)

Hello there! I hope I’m not bothering you or asking at a bad time, but I have a question. How do you cite sources in Wikipedia edits? --Communism is cringe (talk) 19:54, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sincere apologies for the very late response. Have you read Help:Referencing for beginners? Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 23:09, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding new book to Wikipedia

Hello, I am new here and looking forward to add some books to Wikipedia written by various authors. Any guidance on how to get started would be greatly appreciated. Mailvishi (talk) 15:22, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sincere apologies for the very late response. If you mean creating articles about books, the first step is to determine whether the book is notable. This term has a very specific meaning on Wikipedia. You can read more about it here: WP:Notability. Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 23:12, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Noobx9000 (19:26, 27 November 2024)

Hello mentor! hope you're well. Since I posted a question regarding creating an article (20 days ago), I've received positive yet somewhat mixed answers. So, let me ask you - to create an article, should I go to 'create a draft using article wizard' or create a draft in the 'sandbox'? Also, how would I take someone's help while creating a draft and referencing? Please help! --Noobx9000 (talk) 19:26, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sincere apologies for the very late response. Have you made any progress since? I think you can work on a new article using either of those approaches. Re referencing, have you read this: Help:Referencing for beginners? Re getting help, all pages on Wikipedia, even the sandbox and the Drafts namespace, are public, so you can show them to anyone to get their help. Question from Kori Twilight (16:36, 9 December 2024)

Hello, I was wondering how to create a hyperlink to other sources on Wikipedia? Such as when mentioning a historical figure, how would I link that person's name to their article?

I'm on Android.

Thank you so much. --Kori Twilight (talk) 16:36, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kori Twilight, you can add a link from one article to another by putting the text in double square brackets like this: [[example]]. Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 23:17, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, @Barnards.tar.gz I'll make sure to try this out on my user page first as to limit any potential side-effects from mistakes. Kori Twilight (talk) 23:56, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from LenaNYC (19:52, 25 December 2024)

Hello Barnards :)

Nice to meet you ! I am just getting started on wikipedia.

How can i help on some existing articles ? Any tips :) ? And what are the most important things to consider when writing a new article ?

Thanks and merry Christmas from France ! --LenaNYC (talk) 19:52, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @LenaNYC. Welcome to Wikipedia. You might find Wikipedia:Task Center useful. It is best to edit for a while before trying to create a new article. If you think you have found a notable topic that doesn’t already have an article, the best place to start is Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Hello! Please I need help correctly verifying the discrepancies with an article I contributed-(Jay On Air) but was withdrawn (not deleted). --Martinschukwudera (talk) 23:27, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Sethi752 (16:26, 30 January 2025)

Why my Infosys edit was reverted. --Sethi752 (talk) 16:26, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The reason given in the edit summary was to point to the MOS:OVERLINK page, which gives countries as an example of words that should generally not be linked. Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 22:44, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
