Please stop changing the formatting on this article. You've literally tried doing this in January 2025, January 2023, and 2022. I don't know why you insist on doing this repeatedly, but please stop. Parsecboy (talk) 18:32, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't see how it hurt. Had been taken to task for leaving refs stacked like that. It was done in good faith, and I've never been criticized for putting it in this style. When I edit pages, it is the style I was told to use by admins. The parentheses are to make it more conforming to Chicago MoS. I HAVE been criticized for leaving it in the tsyle it is now, HOWEVER, since you object and are taking ownership of the article, I'll leave it. Take care and have a good weekend. Your recent edits to Battle of New Orleans
I have some concerns about your recent edits to Battle of New Orleans.
In some cases, a link to Google Books has been added by whatever bot you have used. There does not appear to have been any verification that the entire book is freely available. In the case of the book authored by Abernethy, nothing whatsoever can be accessed. Adding this, as I understand it, is in breach of the WP:GBOOKS policy.
What controls do you have in place, to prevent further occurrences of this happening? Keith H99 (talk) 13:30, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- I thought I added them "with search inside/preview" available. I'll doublecheck and remove ones without search ability. I may have just muffed it. Boo Boo (talk) 15:36, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- There have been two contributions recently by two editors, where the script that was used has resulted in unwarranted changes. I used to work as a data analyst, and have seen this occur where a proposed change script is compiled, but not thoroughly tested before being applied to the live environment.
- I am used to performing manual changes to wiki. Can you advise me as to what tools you used to perform those changes, please? If the past week is anything to go by, I believe I am going to be seeing more instances of unwarranted changes that are executed, in addition to the desired and needed data transformations. I'm going to have to go to wiki bot 101 education. Keith H99 (talk) 16:36, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- All manual changes, but with so many, I may have just missed the ones without preview/search inside. Didn't use a script. Boo Boo (talk) 21:54, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
