Krzysztof Piątek (born 3 December 1952, in Warsaw) is a Polish sociologist^[1], academic and university professor^[2], known for his researches and publications^[3] related to Social Policy, Social Work, Sociology and Political Science. A member of the The Polish Society of Social Policy and former Head of the Social Policy Faculty at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK) and the university's Institute of Sociology.

On December 2nd 2022, a ceremonial scientific seminar was held to celebrate his 70th birthday and 45th anniversary of work at Nicolaus Copernicus University. A congratulatory letter from the Rector of UMK, Professor Andrzej Sokala, was read by Professor Wojciech Wysota, Vice-Rector for Research. During the seminar, lectures were delivered by Professor Krzysztof Frysztacki, Professor Barbara Szatur-Jaworska, and Professor Mirosław Grewiński.
