Hello

There are two references about the appointment of Zubiri as president pro tempore of Senate on June 29. But the term of Recto ended on the 30th, so I am just confused on it. http://legacy.senate.gov.ph/photo_release/2022/0601_14.asp and https://www.cnnphilippines.com/news/2022/6/1/Zubiri-Senate-President-Pro-Tempore.html, while the page of President pro tempore of the Senate of the Philippines says that June 29 was the date. Why is the date June 1? TheNoobsusguy33 (good) 22:05, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pablo Ocampo Street, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page South Avenue. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

At-large congressional district vs. lone congressional district

I moved the articles for the congressional districts of General Santos and Bacolod from "at-large" to "lone" since those are the official names used in the Philippines' House of Representatives as well as news articles. In fact, for those moves, I cited official Congressional bills using those terms. While "at-large" and "lone" may mean the same thing in this case, shouldn't we use the official name? With MOS:TIES, shouldn't we use the Philippine term "lone" instead of "at-large" which is used in the United States Congress? If you are a voter, please note that the COMELEC ballot uses "lone district", not "at-large". Jollibinay (talk) 12:09, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The word "at-large" was also used in other wiki pages. Noobsusguy33 (talk) 15:22, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wiki pages are user-generated sources that can be edited by anyone at any time. As such, there's always a chance that they may be incorrect. That's why we don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia. WP:RS explicitly says Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published sources.
As per WP:TITLE, while Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's official name as an article title, it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable, English-language sources. So, the term "at-large" used in other wiki pages is correct while the term "lone" used officially by the House of Representatives, its members, other branches of government, the COMELEC, and the media is wrong?
