English: St Chad's Circus, Birmingham, West Midlands, in 1977. To the right is the roof of the former Great Western Railway (GWR) Snow Hill station, which was being demolished as this picture was being taken. The mural on the wall of the pedestrian way in the middle of St Chad's Circus was by Kenneth Budd. It represented the history of the GWR. A major road development started here in late 2006 to replace the roundabout with a traffic light junction. In the process some of the wall has been demolished and this pedestrian area has been filled in. The mural was not preserved and survives only in photographs such as this. |
